Student answer (Band 5.0)

In today'srapidly changing world, this issue has become a matter of considerable debate. Some people believe that advertising is extremely successful at persuading us to buy things. While on the other hand ,some argue that advertising is so common rhat we no longer pay attention to it.

First of all, there are several reasons for this. Nowadays, social media played an significant role in publicity. Some people placed different types of startagies such as 'buy one get one free' offers to promote their bussines. Furthermore, most of public attracts with these types of offers. Moreover, some indiviuals pays money to famous social media influencers for publicity. Those influencers make a special content according to the product. In result, public purchase those things and the owner of that product obtain huge profit.

However, there are also many causes for the advertising is so common that we no longer pay attention to it. At first, some people placed some ads on social media platform for promoting bussines their aim was only persuading public to buy things. In contrast, people get boring to see same ads on daily basis. Whenever, they opened an app a same ad showed on the screen and they just skip them immidiatley. They were getting bored day by day.

In conclusion,my opinion is that this issue has both positive and negative aspects;however,i believe that the most effective approach is to consider the long term benefits for individuals and society. There are many arguments on both sides but i think advertising is very beneficial for good products.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses both views regarding advertising and attempts to provide an opinion. However, the essay falls short of the minimum 250-word requirement, clocking in at 248 words, which impacts task completion. While the student discusses how advertising persuades through social media and special offers, and conversely how people ignore repetitive ads, the ideas remain somewhat under-developed and general. The conclusion offers a rather vague opinion that does not fully tie the arguments together effectively. Consequently, the task achievement is limited by the lack of full development and the under-length penalty applied in accordance with the official guidelines.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is divided into paragraphs, which helps establish a basic structure representing an introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. However, cohesion is frequently faulty and mechanical. The writer relies heavily on basic cohesive markers such as 'First of all', 'Furthermore', and 'Moreover', and some transitions are awkwardly structured, like 'While on the other hand'. Paragraphing is attempted, but internal progression of ideas lacks smooth transitions. Referencing is sometimes unclear, and the overall arrangement shows mechanical linking rather than natural progression throughout the response.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The student demonstrates a limited vocabulary with noticeable errors that occasionally impede understanding or reveal awkward phrasing. Examples include 'social media played an significant role', 'startagies', 'bussines', 'most of public attracts with these offers', and 'people get boring'. While the student attempts less common vocabulary such as 'influencers', 'profit', and 'persuading', spelling mistakes ('rhat', 'immidiatley') and incorrect word forms ('attracts' instead of 'are attracted', 'boring' instead of 'bored') restrict the lexical score to a modest band level.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The student uses a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, but control is inconsistent. There are frequent grammatical and punctuation errors throughout the text, including missing articles ('in result, public purchase'), incorrect subject-verb agreement or tense usage ('social media played an significant role', 'some indiviuals pays money', 'Whenever, they opened an app a same ad showed'), and improper punctuation spacing. While basic meaning is usually conveyed despite these errors, the high frequency of inaccurate complex structures prevents the writing from reaching a higher band score.
