Student answer (Band 5.0)

The topic '' Some people say that advertising is extremely successful at persuading us to buy things while other people think that advertising is so common that we no longer pay attention to it". I have my personal experience regarding this statement. I agree that advertising is so common that we no longer pay attention to it.

Furthermore, advertisement is an essential part of e-commerce. By advertising we convey a powerful and energetic knowledge of any sort of product while consuming very less time. Publicity is very good option on hybrid mode instead of going physically for approaching people. Advertisement is very common that everyone can pay an attention without any effort. If we made some products which are not a useful products in our city or country than we advertise this product through internet to all over the world. So the people reached us to get this product with very eassily So those who said that publicity is extremely successful at presuading us to buy things are right. If we never advertising any product buy saying that we no longer pay attention to it is never on merit.

The survey conducted by an organization and results are same as my opinion because the participent is more than 100 and the survey is conducting through different levels of thoughts of peoples.

To conclude that publicity is extremely successful at presuading us to buy things if we never advertised a product the value rate of that product is less than a product who has advertised.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response attempts to address the prompt by discussing both views and stating a personal opinion, touching upon whether advertisements successfully persuade buyers or are ignored due to ubiquity. However, the development of ideas is limited and at times confusing. For instance, the transition from arguing that people no longer pay attention to advertising to concluding that publicity is extremely successful creates contradiction and a lack of clear argumentation. The position is stated at the beginning, but the support provided in the body paragraphs is superficial and somewhat repetitive. While the writer addresses all parts of the task broadly, the ideas remain under-developed and lack extension. According to the descriptors for Band 5.0, the task is addressed only partially and ideas are limited and under-developed, which best fits this performance.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The text is organized into paragraphs, but the logical progression is frequently disrupted by awkward transitions and confusing statements. For example, sentences such as 'If we never advertising any product buy saying that we no longer pay attention to it is never on merit' lack clarity and hinder the flow of ideas. Cohesive devices are used awkwardly or repetitively (e.g., 'Furthermore', 'To conclude that'), making the overall arrangement mechanical rather than natural. Paragraphing is attempted, but the grouping of ideas is sometimes illogical, such as the sudden introduction of a vague survey in the third paragraph. Referencing is occasionally unclear, which forces the reader to work harder to follow the argument. These features align closely with the Band 5 descriptors, where there is some organization but no clear overall progression, and cohesive devices are inadequate.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is generally basic and repetitive, with frequent reliance on simple terms like 'advertising', 'product', and 'people'. There are noticeable errors in word choice, form, and collocation, such as 'consuming very less time', 'very good option on hybrid mode', and 'with very eassily'. The writer attempts some less common vocabulary, such as 'e-commerce' and 'survey', but these attempts are often marred by inaccuracies that can cause some difficulty or hesitation for the reader. Spelling errors also occur, such as 'presuading' and 'eassily'. This vocabulary profile corresponds to Band 5.0, representing a limited range with noticeable errors that may cause some difficulty.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but many of the complex attempts are faulty and ungrammatical. Frequent errors in tense, subject-verb agreement, and clause structure appear throughout the text, such as 'If we made some products which are not a useful products... than we advertise', 'the survey is conducting', and 'If we never advertised a product the value rate of that product is less than a product who has advertised'. Punctuation is also weak, particularly regarding run-on sentences and misuse of quotation marks. These persistent errors frequently impede clarity and cause difficulty for the reader. Therefore, the grammatical performance fits the Band 5.0 descriptor, featuring a limited range of structures where attempts at complex sentences are often faulty and errors are frequent.
