Some people say that advertising is extremely successful at persuading us to buy things. Other people think that advertising is so common that we no longer pay attention to it. Discuss both views and give your own opinion.
Student answer (Band 5.5)
Nowadays, many individuals say that advertising is a crucial tool for promoting some products which people buy without any clearification also many of them belive that, advertising is a very ubiquity so do not need to give attention to it. Now I am going discuss both of the sides.
Firstly, this world is being develop day by day due to modern technology which is inclueded with advertisement. Advertisement is a digital marketing platform whereas it promote different types of product which is necessary for every person. It is making our life easy and comfortable, we can simply indentify things in every where via advertisement. Moreover, in every company when they launge a new product they give first priority to advertise, because they know without digital marketing they can fall in loss. For an example, we all are watching game like football, cricket and so on, that time we see lot of bilboards also digital 'LED' whears show different banners about food, goods, vihicles. This attract people to buy it, also something new release like 'i phone new model' that also involed to advertise.
On the other hand, most common part of this modern era is advertising and this is increasing day by day significantly, thats why many people are showing less intersent on it. When ever we go outside we can easily see different different posters, magagines and so on, that all are related with advertise. Now a days many false information publish on society by specific addvertisement, thats why many people are showing no interest to see that and buy products. As like for, in online platform many people see some goods via advertise then buy it, but they do not get exact product which they order on, it happens many times.
In conclusion, every sector has pros and cons so we have to careful on it. In my opinion see advertisement and buy things can be a wise decision, while many times need to identify the accurate and reliabe source

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses all parts of the prompt by discussing both views—that advertising is persuasive and that it is too common to notice—while also providing a personal opinion in the conclusion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited and repetitive. For instance, the first body paragraph attempts to explain how advertising promotes products using examples like billboards and LED screens, but the reasoning remains basic. Similarly, the second body paragraph touches on ad fatigue and false information, though the arguments lack deep extension and clear examples. While a clear position is established throughout, the support for the arguments needs more elaboration and precision to reach a higher band level, placing this response firmly in the band 6 category.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay displays a coherent overall arrangement with a clear four-paragraph structure. However, cohesion is often faulty and mechanical. The writer relies on basic cohesive markers such as 'Firstly', 'On the other hand', and 'In conclusion', but the transitions between sentences within paragraphs can be abrupt or awkward, as seen in sentences like 'Advertisement is a digital marketing platform whereas it promote different types of product'. Referencing is also occasionally unclear, such as the dangling pronoun use in 'As like for, in online platform many people see some goods via advertise then buy it'. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate introduction, body points, and conclusion, but the flow is hindered by awkward phrasing and limited cohesive flexibility.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The student uses an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting some less common items such as 'ubiquity', 'digital marketing platform', and 'reliable source'. However, there are frequent noticeable errors in word choice, form, and spelling throughout the essay. Examples include 'clearification' instead of clarification, 'belive' instead of believe, 'ubiquity' used as an adjective instead of a noun ('a very ubiquity'), 'inclusued' or 'inclueded', 'launge' instead of launch, 'bilboards', 'magagines', and 'addvertisement'. These lexical errors and awkward word formations occasionally impede smooth reading, reflecting the characteristics of a band 5 performance.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The response demonstrates a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, but control over grammar and punctuation is inconsistent. There are frequent grammatical errors, such as subject-verb agreement issues ('advertising is a very ubiquity so do not need to give attention', 'different types of product which is'), run-on sentences, and incorrect prepositions ('in every where', 'on society'). Punctuation is also weak, particularly with comma splices and missing commas. Although the writer attempts complex structures through relative clauses and subordinating conjunctions, these attempts frequently contain structural errors. Communication is maintained despite the errors, but the high density of grammatical slips prevents the score from rising above a band 5.0.
