Student answer (Band 5.5)
In today's generation the advertising is the most important thing to persuade the things. It is often argued that advertising is extremely successful at persuading us to buy things while others believe that advertising is so common that we no longer pay attention to it. This essay will discussed both perspective before explaining why I believe that advertising is extremely successful at persuading us to buy things.
On the one hand, many people believe that advertising is extremely successful. This is mainly because many pupils buy things through advertisement. They cannot go to the market and see the product they ordered online. Some persons sale the product through advertisement and honest reviws about the product. For instance, some indviduals advertisement through social media and some through billboards and gorilla marketing.
On the other hand, other argued that advertising is so common that we no longer pay attention to it. They believe this because they didnot like the advertisement. others people only say that it is attention to buy the product. Sometimes ads are overload they display such as social media, news etc. They irritate the person. Advertising faces widespread economic, social, and ethical criticism for driving excessive consumption, raising product costs, and manipulating consumer desires.
Moreover, from my perspective advertisement is extremely important they gain attention to the customer to buy the product. And it is the most important thing is advertising that is to run the business.
Consequently, both arguements are valid. However, i strongly believe that advertising is extremely important as it provides more advantages for indviduals and society.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the task by discussing both views on advertising and providing the writer's own opinion. The introduction clearly states that the essay will discuss both perspectives and side with the view that advertising is extremely successful. Body paragraphs attempt to explore the two sides, using examples such as social media and billboards. However, the ideas are somewhat repetitive and lack deeper extension or thorough supporting evidence. For instance, the discussion on why people ignore ads touches on overload, yet remains quite basic. The position is clear throughout, but the development of ideas aligns best with Band 6 descriptors.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay has a coherent overall arrangement and follows a recognisable structure with an introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the two views. However, cohesion within paragraphs is sometimes faulty or mechanical. For example, transition phrases like 'On the one hand' and 'On the other hand' are used, but the internal logical flow between sentences is occasionally disjointed, such as the sudden shift to ethical criticisms in the third paragraph. Referencing is also sometimes unclear, resulting in a Band 5.5 performance overall, which rounds to 5.5.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The student uses an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, successfully incorporating terms such as 'persuading', 'excessive consumption', and 'billboards'. However, there are noticeable lexical errors and awkward word choices throughout the text, such as 'pupils' instead of 'people', 'sale' instead of 'sell', 'reviws', 'indviduals', and 'gorilla marketing' instead of 'guerrilla marketing'. These errors indicate limited precision and control over less common vocabulary. While communication is generally maintained, the lexical limitations and spelling mistakes place this response securely in the Band 5 category.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, utilizing relative clauses and conditional structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors and awkward phrasing, such as 'advertising is the most important thing to persuade the things', 'other argued that', 'didnot like', and 'ads are overload'. Punctuation and capitalization errors are also present, such as lowercase 'i'. These errors cause some difficulty for the reader at times, though the basic meaning usually remains understandable, fitting the criteria for Band 5.
