It is often argued that people believe advertising the product is very successful at persuading to buy such things. Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The student addresses all parts of the task by discussing both views on advertising and providing a personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited and relies heavily on personal anecdotes rather than broader societal arguments, which aligns with Band 5 or 6. For instance, the statement 'i advertised the soap product and people know me from their' introduces a personal example that lacks general academic relevance. The position is stated, but the ideas can be repetitive and lack deep extension, particularly in the body paragraphs where arguments about Nepal's advertising sector are slightly unclear. Therefore, this performance fits the Band 5 descriptor well, as some ideas are under-developed and the supporting points are not fully convincing.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay is divided into a clear introduction, three body paragraphs, and a conclusion, showing an attempt at logical organization. However, the overall progression is hampered by awkward transitions and repetitive phrasing, such as starting multiple paragraphs with 'From one perspective,' 'From another perspective,' and 'From my perspective.' Cohesive devices are sometimes mechanical or inaccurate, as seen in phrases like 'For example, In Nepal people usually works at advertisement sector' and 'Therefore, it helps to save the people's lives.' Paragraphing is present, but the logical flow between sentences within paragraphs frequently breaks down due to referencing errors. This level of organization and cohesive control aligns directly with Band 5 descriptors.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The student uses a limited but minimally adequate range of vocabulary for the task, with words like 'persuading,' 'perspective,' and 'crucial.' However, there are noticeable lexical errors and awkward collocations that cause difficulty for the reader, such as 'advertising the product is very successful at persuading to buy such things' instead of 'persuading people to buy,' and 'advertise product' instead of 'advertised products.' Word forms are also frequently misused, for example, 'by advertised the such product' and 'look advertisement.' These frequent slips and restricted range place the vocabulary firmly in the Band 5 category.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The student attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but frequent grammatical errors impede communication and reduce readability. Examples of errors include subject-verb agreement issues ('people usually works'), tense inconsistencies ('didnt allow me to look advertisement because he told me that they are fake'), and missing prepositions ('pay attention in it'). Complex structures are often faulty, and errors occur throughout the text rather than just occasionally. While the meaning can generally be deciphered with effort, the high frequency of basic grammatical mistakes prevents the essay from reaching a Band 6, making Band 5 the most accurate descriptor.
