Student answer (Band 6.0)

It is oftenly argued that advertising has played a significant role in provoking people to buy products, while others believe that nowadays advertising is a ubiquitous thing for individuals because they do not concentrate on this. Although people do not focus on advertisements, i believe it helps buyers to know about quality and features of new products.

On the one hand, advertising is getting alot of popularity in worldwide. This is because it has attracted the various customers to buy items, which helps them to get information about quality products. Furthermore, in this era, every person uses digital tools so they watch the advertisements of clothes, shoes and elctronic items through online websites. As a result, they automatically get attracted towards these new and luxuary products. For instance, the majority of consumers purchase different buyning items through watching advertisements either by online platforms or on billboards on roads.

On the other hand, advertising has become very common thing for people. This is because they do not give attention on advertisements anymore. In fact, youngsters watch numerous Ads of mobile phones, cosmetics or clothing products on daily basis so they feel that they already know about these online stores or prices of products. Most of the individuals get to know about these things by watching on online websites or big billboards on side of the roads or on the walls of any institute or hospital daily so it is boring activity for them. For example, mostly teenagers now ignore Ads because they watch everyday; therefore. they prefer to ignore.

In conclusion, although some people prefer to ignore adverting because it is a common thing , i believe it is advantageous for them to get to know about prices or quality of different items.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

The response successfully addresses all parts of the prompt by discussing both views—that advertising is persuasive and that it is too common to be noticed—while also providing a clear personal opinion in the introduction and conclusion. The ideas are relevant and supported with examples, such as the mention of digital tools, billboards, and specific items like clothes, shoes, and electronic devices. However, some of the supporting points are slightly repetitive, particularly when discussing youngsters ignoring advertisements, which keeps the development at a Band 6 level rather than fully extended. Overall, the writer's position remains clear throughout the essay.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The essay displays a coherent overall arrangement with a clear paragraph structure, utilizing standard introductory, body, and concluding paragraphs. Cohesive devices are used to signal shifts between paragraphs, such as 'On the one hand' and 'On the other hand'. However, referencing and cohesion are sometimes faulty or mechanical, as seen in repetitive sentence structures and a broken transition in the third paragraph ('therefore. they prefer to ignore'). Paragraphing is present and generally appropriate, but the logical progression within the body paragraphs occasionally stalls due to redundant statements.

Lexical Resource: Band 6.0

The student uses an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, successfully attempting less common items such as 'ubiquitous', 'advantageous', and 'cosmetics'. However, there are notable lexical errors and awkward word choices, such as 'oftenly' instead of 'often', 'buyning items' instead of 'buying items', 'luxuary' instead of 'luxury', and 'alot' instead of 'a lot'. While these inaccuracies do not impede overall communication, they demonstrate a lack of precision that places the response firmly within the Band 6 descriptor.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0

The essay demonstrates a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, utilizing subordinating conjunctions like 'although' and 'because'. There are, however, several grammatical errors and punctuation flaws throughout the text, such as uncapitalized pronouns ('i believe'), punctuation errors ('therefore.'), and minor agreement issues. Despite these errors, the meaning remains clear and they rarely impede communication. The control of grammar is sufficient to meet the requirements of Band 6.
