Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0

You introduce the topic and begin to explain the view that advertising can persuade people, using celebrity endorsements and exaggerated product claims as relevant examples. However, the response addresses the task only minimally: it does not explain the opposing view that advertising is so widespread that people ignore it, and your own opinion is promised but never stated. The supporting point about fans feeling pressure to buy is also left undeveloped. In addition, the response is 119 words, below the required 250, so there is not enough space to cover both views and reach a supported conclusion. To improve, discuss each perspective in a separate developed paragraph and clearly state and justify your position.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

There is a basic attempt to organise the response: the opening previews a discussion, and “On the one hand” signals the start of one viewpoint. The ideas about social media, celebrity ambassadors and purchasing pressure are broadly connected. However, the response stops before presenting the other side or a conclusion, so it has no clear overall progression. Some links are also inaccurate or incomplete: “While, others believe” does not form a complete contrast, and “Which results” is an incomplete sentence rather than a clear connection to the previous idea. Develop a complete sequence of introduction, two contrasting body paragraphs and conclusion, using linking phrases only where they accurately show the relationship between ideas.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You attempt some topic-related vocabulary, including “celebrity brand ambassador,” “exaggerate the value,” and “purchase,” which helps communicate the general point about advertising’s influence. However, the range is limited, and several word choices or collocations make the meaning less natural: “sailing the products to public” appears to mean selling or marketing products, while “take it as a granted” is not an appropriate expression. There are also noticeable spelling and form errors, such as “esay,” “unecesary,” and “significantly amount.” Build a more precise range around advertising and consumer behaviour, and check common collocations and spelling. For example, use “promote products to consumers” and “take it for granted.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The response attempts a few different sentence forms, including a contrast in the introduction and a cause-and-effect explanation. However, the range remains limited, and errors occur frequently enough to affect clarity. For example, “every individual have” has incorrect subject–verb agreement, while “Which results, they spend…” is a sentence fragment with an unclear grammatical link. “As a results” also has an agreement error, and “even if it unnecessary for them” is missing a verb. Punctuation around “While” and the fragment beginning “Which” further disrupts sentence boundaries. Practise forming complete sentences and checking agreement, articles and verb forms; then combine ideas with accurate subordinate clauses.
