Student answer (Band 5.0)
Some people argue that advertising is extremely successful at persuading us to buy things. Other people think that advertising is so common that we no longer pay attention to it. I believe that the way of advertising in a creative and innovative way to attract's consumers attention and make with only celebrities in a beautiful way to grab people attention.
On the one hand, some people saying advertisments are attracting people attention at persuading us to buy things. For instance, some makeup and clothing brands advertisments are done by celebrities. People are hyping to those brands of celebrities and they are willingto buy whatever the cost. As a result, It is the main thing that advertising is extremely successful at attracting us to buy things.
On the other hand, some other people that advertising is boring to watch and pay attention to it. For example, while I am watching in television I saw some advertisments they are playing them in every advertisment. Those advertisments are boring to watch and litreally people no longer pay attention to it. Therefore, playing unnecessary advertisements in television is waste of time for publicity.
In conclusion, people are saying advertisments are depends on publicity. The companies have to create new innovative idea to watch like some are attracting and some are waste of time. In my opinion, I believe that companies have to hire recognised celebrities to act in advertisments and to create those advertisments in a creative and innovative to watch people like a story.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
You discuss both views and give an opinion, so the response is relevant to the task. The first body paragraph explains how celebrity endorsements can encourage purchases, while the second describes repeated television adverts as boring and easy to ignore. However, the opinion is not consistently clear: the introduction is difficult to interpret, and the conclusion shifts towards recommending celebrities without fully explaining how this resolves the opposing view. The examples are brief and the reasons behind each view are under-developed. The response also contains 224 words, below the required 250; the 27 words copied from the prompt are not counted. Develop each argument with clearer explanation and a specific example, and state your position directly.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has a recognisable four-paragraph structure, and the sequence from introduction to two contrasting views and a conclusion is appropriate. Signposts such as “On the one hand,” “On the other hand,” and “In conclusion” help readers identify the essay’s parts. However, progression within paragraphs is limited: several sentences repeat the same point about adverts attracting attention or being boring, rather than extending it. Some links are also unclear, particularly “Therefore, playing unnecessary advertisements in television is waste of time for publicity,” which does not clearly follow from the example. Use each paragraph to develop one main idea, connect the explanation to its example, and make references such as “those brands” or “it” unambiguous.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use relevant topic vocabulary, including “advertising,” “celebrities,” “brands,” and “consumers,” and attempt more specific expressions such as “creative and innovative.” However, the range is limited and several words or phrases are repeated, especially “advertisements,” “attention,” and “boring.” Some choices and collocations make meaning unclear, as in “people are hyping to those brands” and “waste of time for publicity.” Spelling errors such as “advertisments” and “litreally” also reduce accuracy. Build a wider set of precise expressions for persuasion and audience response, and check spelling and natural word combinations. For example, describe consumers as being “influenced by celebrity endorsements” rather than “hyping to” a brand.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
You attempt a range of sentence purposes, including contrast and cause-and-effect, and some simple sentences communicate the main point. However, control of sentence structure and verb forms is inconsistent, and errors frequently make ideas difficult to follow. For example, “I believe that the way of advertising in a creative and innovative way…” is not a complete, well-formed statement, while “some people saying” and “some other people that advertising is boring” lack appropriate verb structures. Tense shifts in “I am watching … I saw” also disrupt clarity. Practise building complete sentences with a clear subject and finite verb, and check agreement, articles, and punctuation. More accurate simple and compound sentences would make your arguments easier to understand.
