Student answer (Band 5.0)

Some people think that advertising is extremly successful at persuading us to buy things. But other people thinking about advertising is so common thing, and people have no longer attention to it for buying. I personaly agree with these opinions.

To begin,I discuss first opinion about people saying advertising is extremely succcessful at persuading us to buy things. In our community peoples more attracting through advertisments. Different brands usings different types of advertising and create videos with using different labels and tags and performing a stage advertising with actresses and models to permoting their brands and things. Models wearing dresses to permoting clothing brands. Cooking brands making different foods and using different spices for good foods. Peoples adapting modernization and they seeing advertisement and buying more items. In urban areas peoples prefered online shopping, and advertising brands provide online shopping and delivery options. Peoples more prefer online shopping because they represent quality of their brands.

Secondaly, peoples can not pay attention on advertising because some people feel insecure to buying advertising brands and online shoppins. Adverising brands usings differents styles to permoting their brands. In our community rural areas peoples preferred face to face shopping and visiting markets and clothing fabrics or other places to buying different items. Shopkeepers provide return poilices and changing items with in few days. And people more preferring warranty and return policies to buying items. In contrast, advertising items and online shopping can not provide return policies and much more epensive items. Poor peoples can not affords things.

To conclude with my own opinion, adverising attract more peoples, but some peoples not attracting.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You address both views by describing how advertising can encourage purchases and why some people prefer in-person shopping, and you give a personal position in the introduction and conclusion. However, the position, “I personaly agree with these opinions,” is unclear because the two views conflict, and the conclusion only says advertising attracts some people but not others. Several examples—such as models promoting clothes and online delivery—are relevant, but they are listed rather than explained to show how advertising persuades consumers. The second view also shifts towards concerns about online shopping, which is not quite the same as ignoring advertising because it is everywhere. State your own view clearly and develop each side with a direct explanation and a specific example.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a conclusion. Sequencing phrases such as “To begin,” “Secondly,” and “To conclude” help signal the stages of the discussion. However, progression within paragraphs is often difficult to follow because several points are placed together without clear links. For example, the first body paragraph moves from brands and models to cooking products, modernization, and online shopping without explaining how these examples connect. Some linking phrases, including “In contrast,” do not clearly express the relationship between the ideas that follow. Organise each body paragraph around one main claim, then explain and illustrate it, using clearer references and transitions between sentences.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “advertising,” “brands,” “online shopping,” “return policies,” and “warranty.” These terms help communicate the general subject, but the range is limited and several words or phrases are repeated, particularly “peoples,” “advertising,” and “brands.” There are also noticeable spelling and word-choice problems, such as “extremly,” “succcessful,” “permoting,” and “epensive,” which can distract the reader. Some combinations are unnatural, for example “people have no longer attention to it for buying” and “more attracting through advertisments.” Build a wider set of accurate expressions for consumer behaviour and persuasion, and check spelling and collocations when editing.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

You attempt both simple sentences and longer structures, and the paragraphing makes the intended meaning partly recoverable. However, the range of sentence patterns is limited, and attempts to form longer sentences often contain errors. For example, “other people thinking about advertising is so common thing” lacks a correctly formed verb structure, while “Models wearing dresses to permoting clothing brands” is a fragment rather than a complete sentence. Subject–verb agreement and verb forms are also inconsistent in “brands usings” and “they seeing advertisement and buying more items.” Articles, plurals, and prepositions are frequently missing or inaccurate, as in “in our community rural areas peoples.” Practise building complete sentences with a clear subject and verb, then check agreement, articles, and verb forms.
