Student answer (Band 6.0)
Some poeple belive that advertising has a powerful infulence on consumer purchasing decisios, while other argue that people have so familier with that they tend to ingnore it. This essay will discuss both these view, but i believe that advertising play a significant role in influcing what individuals buy.
On the one hand, advertising can sucessfully encourage people to puchase products. companies use attractive images, discount on different items and persuassive language to grab the customers. For example, when famous celebrity promotes a particular brand, people may become interested to buying it becuase they trust it. Moreover, advertisments intoduce new products and explain their benefits which help consumers to make decisions. For example, a company want to lauch new mobile phone, where they advertise on social media and television with mobile specification. As a result, customers can easily make there decision what type of cell phone they want to buy.
On the other hand, people see advertisment on television, websites, social media and public tranport almsot everyday. As a result, they get bored of reptition of advertisment. For example, many internet users often skip the advertisment before watching video because they want faster content. In addition, advertisments are decades of years old, people want new type of information on fashion, business and geopoliticlal. For instance, new generation they dont want this type advertising about each field.
In conclusion, although, the widespread presence of advertisment has made individuals less interested on them. But i believe that advertising remains an effective way to infulence people.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
You address both views and state your position clearly: advertising can influence purchases, even though its constant presence may make people less attentive. The first body paragraph gives relevant reasons, including celebrity endorsements and information about new products, while the second discusses repetition and skipping online adverts. This covers the task well, but the ideas are not equally developed. The point about people wanting “new type of information” is unclear and does not fully explain why advertising is ignored; the claim that a new phone’s specifications help customers decide also needs a more specific explanation. To strengthen the response, develop each main point with a clearer cause-and-effect explanation or a focused example, while maintaining your position throughout.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The essay has a clear overall structure: an introduction, one paragraph for each view, and a conclusion. Phrases such as “On the one hand,” “On the other hand,” and “As a result” help readers follow the main progression, and the examples are generally placed alongside the points they support. However, some connections are mechanical or unclear. In the second body paragraph, the move from people skipping adverts to wanting new information is not fully explained, and “For instance, new generation…” does not clearly connect to the preceding claim. The conclusion’s “although… But” construction also makes the relationship between ideas awkward. Use clearer links between claims and examples, and make each paragraph’s reasoning progress step by step.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “persuasive language,” “celebrity,” “benefits,” “repetition,” and “influence,” and you attempt to discuss advertising across several platforms. This gives you enough topic-related language to communicate the main ideas. However, spelling errors and imprecise or unnatural combinations are noticeable, including “puchase,” “advertisments,” “reptition,” and “interested to buying it.” Some expressions are also vague, such as “new type of information” and “this type advertising.” Aim to check spelling carefully and learn common collocations as complete phrases. More precise wording for the reasons people respond to or ignore adverts would make your argument clearer and more flexible.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt a mix of simple and complex sentences, including clauses with “when,” “because,” and “which,” and most of the main ideas remain understandable. However, errors in sentence structure and grammatical forms occur across the response. For example, “other argue” lacks subject–verb agreement, “people have so familiar with that” is not a complete grammatical construction, and “a company want to launch” has an agreement error. There are also problems with articles, plurals, and sentence boundaries, as in “new generation they don’t want…” and the conclusion’s “although… But.” Practise building accurate complex sentences and check agreement, articles, and punctuation. Greater control of these patterns would make your range more effective.
