Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0
You introduce both viewpoints and signal that you will give your opinion, but the response addresses the task only minimally. The first body paragraph explains how celebrity endorsements can encourage purchases and briefly mentions comparing products, with the shoe example offering some support. However, the second viewpoint is not developed: the response ends after “On the other hand, individuals are,” so it gives no explanation of why people may ignore frequent advertising. Your own opinion is also not stated beyond the introductory promise. In addition, the response is 98 words below the required minimum, leaving too little space to develop the discussion. To improve, complete both sides, state your position clearly, and support each main idea with explanation or an example.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has a recognisable basic structure: an introduction, a paragraph beginning “On the one hand,” and an attempted transition to the opposing view. These signposts help the reader identify the intended direction. However, there is no completed second body paragraph or conclusion, so the discussion has no overall progression or resolution. Some links within the first paragraph are also unclear, particularly “As, this shoes are not much comfortable,” which makes the relationship between the example and the point difficult to follow. The phrase “Also” introduces another idea, but the paragraph does not explain how it connects to the main claim. Develop each viewpoint in a separate, complete paragraph and use clear references and transitions to show how each point supports your argument.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “advertising,” “products,” “celebrity,” “features,” and “price,” and phrases such as “went out of stock” help convey the example. However, the range is limited and several noticeable spelling and word-choice errors make parts of the response difficult to understand: “attracks,” “publisied,” “attractation,” and “adds” appear where more accurate forms are needed. Some expressions are also unnatural, such as “popular faces” and “show attractation.” Aim for precise collocations such as “celebrity endorsements,” “attract consumers,” and “compare products from different providers.” Proofread spelling and choose vocabulary that expresses the intended meaning directly; this will make your ideas clearer and more convincing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a contrast introduced by “while” and a reason introduced by “if.” However, the range is limited, and frequent errors in sentence structure and verb forms sometimes make the meaning difficult to follow. For example, “they will bought the item” combines an incorrect modal construction with the past form; use “they will buy” or “they bought.” In “people are not looking what they really need,” the verb pattern is incomplete, and “one of the cricketer, he launched” has faulty sentence structure and number agreement. Articles and agreement also need attention in “plays vital role” and “this shoes are.” Practise accurate basic clauses first, then build longer sentences while checking verb forms, articles, and singular/plural agreement.
