Student answer (Band 4.5)

In this statement talk about advertising is extremely successful to buy things but some people say that advertising is so common. In my opinion both views are completely right. So, i will explain the statement in the following.

Nowadays, people say that advertising is extremely successful to buy things this is right. I agree this opinion because advertising is very important to buy things. If we buy something so we required to advertising without advertising we cannot buy something because without advertising this is not possible so i required advertisement is more important for buy something. While advertising is so common but it is very important than pay attention. Therefore, i agree with this opinion.

While advertising is very important for some people but some people say that advertising is so commom that we need pay attention. But i agree with this opinion because without pay attention we cannot buy something. So this opinion is not wrong because we cannot buy something without pay attention. It is important than advertising. Some people just focuse on advertising they do not pay attention so they cannot buy good things. Therefore, i agree with this opinion.

In conclusion, both views are right because advertising is more important for buy something but pay attention is very important because we cannot buy something without one. So, i agree with both views.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.5

You state an opinion—“both views are completely right”—and refer to both the claim that advertising persuades people and the view that it is so common that people ignore it. However, the discussion does not explain either view convincingly: the claim that advertising is needed to buy things is repeated, rather than supported with an example of how it influences purchasing. The second view is also confused; you say people do not pay attention, then argue that they cannot buy without paying attention, without clarifying how this relates to advertising. The conclusion repeats your position but does not resolve this contradiction. The response is 24 words below the required minimum, which also limits the opportunity to develop the ideas. Explain each view accurately, support it with a relevant example, and make your own position clear.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion. Basic signposting such as “Nowadays,” “While,” and “In conclusion” helps show where the discussion moves. However, progression within the paragraphs is weak because several sentences repeat the same point, especially the claim that advertising is important or necessary to buy things. Connections between ideas are sometimes unclear: “While advertising is so common but…” does not establish a clear contrast, and “without one” in the conclusion has an uncertain reference. The repeated “Therefore” and “So” also make cohesion mechanical. Give each body paragraph one distinct view, explain it in a logical sequence, and use clear references and linking phrases to show how each sentence relates to the previous one.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

You use a small set of relevant topic words, including “advertising,” “pay attention,” and “buy things,” so the general subject remains understandable. However, vocabulary is highly repetitive and often imprecise: “important” and “buy something” recur throughout, while “advertising is extremely successful to buy things” does not express the idea of persuading consumers naturally. Some word forms and spelling also reduce accuracy, such as “commom” and “focuse.” Build a wider range of topic-specific expressions and use collocations such as “influence purchasing decisions,” “promote products,” and “ignore advertisements.” Check spelling and choose words that express the intended relationship precisely; this will make the discussion clearer and less repetitive.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

You attempt some longer sentences and use basic subordinate clauses, for example, “If we buy something…” and “because without advertising…”. Most sentences are understandable, but control is inconsistent, and several sentence patterns are incomplete or incorrectly joined. “In this statement talk about advertising…” lacks a clear subject, while “If we buy something so we required to advertising” has problems with clause structure and verb form. There are also errors in capitalization and punctuation, including lowercase “i” and run-on sentences such as “Nowadays, people say that advertising is extremely successful to buy things this is right.” Practise forming complete sentences with a clear subject and verb, and use full stops or conjunctions to separate ideas. Accurate simple sentences should come before more complex structures.
