Student answer (Band 4.5)

this is a modren era and different people have different mind sets .in this way some people like to advertise the things and other people dont give importance to this thing . In my many of people in my country are successful and they have a craze to advertise their products because they want people also see their products and buy them consequently ,some people have a different mind they think that this is a waste of time no benefits will get to do this .From my prespective ,people who are bussinesman they also want to grow their bussines pursunig the advertising is a great chance to inhance their work and also become a popular if its company and staff does a good work . it also enhance the mind of people and give them new ideas and give some practicle work experience also .but also give some importance on your work if your work is good then it is very beneficial but .But dont make useless psters it is a bad impression on people . in conclusion advertising is a good thing if it is used for good things govt also should take some strps tp expand this work.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0

The response makes a basic attempt to discuss advertising and gives a general view that it can be beneficial when used well. However, it does not clearly explain both sides of the question: the claim that advertising persuades people to buy is only implied, while the opposing view that advertising is so widespread that people ignore it is not meaningfully developed. Points about business growth, popularity and “new ideas” are relevant but unclear or unsupported. The conclusion says advertising is good if used for good things, but this position is not fully explained. The response also falls 50 words short of the required minimum, limiting the opportunity to address and develop the task. Develop each viewpoint with a clear reason and example, then state your opinion directly.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0

There is a basic attempt to move from an opening statement to supporting points and a conclusion, and phrases such as “consequently,” “but” and “in conclusion” show awareness of linking ideas. However, the response is presented as one long paragraph, so the two views and the writer’s opinion are not separated clearly. Ideas also shift abruptly—for example, from business growth to advertising’s effect on people’s minds, then to posters and government action. Some links are confusing or repetitive, particularly “but also give some importance on your work” and the repeated “but.” Use separate paragraphs for the two views and your opinion, and connect each point with clear cause-and-effect relationships.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

The response uses a basic range of topic-related vocabulary, including “advertise,” “products,” “business,” “popular” and “beneficial,” so the general subject is usually identifiable. There are attempts at more specific expressions, such as “waste of time” and “bad impression,” but vocabulary is often repetitive or imprecise, and several spelling errors make reading harder: “modren,” “prespective,” “bussinesman,” “inhance” and “practicle.” Some combinations are unnatural, such as “pursunig the advertising” and “expand this work.” Build a more accurate set of advertising terms and check spelling; for example, use “promote products,” “reach potential customers” and “campaign” where appropriate.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

The response attempts to connect ideas in longer sentences, including the sentence beginning “people who are bussinesman,” but control of sentence structure is inconsistent. Many sentences run together without clear boundaries, and punctuation is often missing or misplaced, as in the opening and the extended sentence beginning “In my many of people.” There are also errors in articles, agreement and verb forms, such as “a different mind,” “it also enhance” and “if its company and staff does.” These problems sometimes make relationships between ideas difficult to follow. Practise writing shorter, complete sentences first, then combine them accurately using conjunctions. Check subject–verb agreement, articles and sentence-ending punctuation during revision.
