Some people say that advertising is extremely successful at persuading us to buy things. Other people think that advertising is so common that we no longer pay attention to it. Discuss both views and give your own opinion.

Student answer (Band 5.0)

Nowadays, advertising is very important to make a brand popular in the niche of people. People spending a high amount of their bughet on advertising to make it popular. Their product gain more sale with the help of advertising.

Some people say that advertising a product is a very good approach to persuading us to buy their things. People thought that a brand who is advertising his product more can help us to known about the quality of it. They say that a lot the ads comes makes them to get intrested in their products. For example; if a person go for shopping and he saw 2 products one is well advertised and popular in people the second one is not hyped in people thay would like to buy the hyped ones. As a result advertising is most important to create a niche in the market.

On the other hand, Some people think that the more the product ads are common they start ignoring them. They are true in their point of view that if their are to much ads of a single product are coming it make them to stop paying attention to him. People says that a product should have to makes their ads rear not common. For example: A drink brand start advertising their product more common like every time their ad is coming it make them to lose people attention to it because it makes them iritate to see a single ad more more times.

In my opinion, If they want to get more niche and sales they have to play minimum ammount of ads like the rear ones. It gots people attention to their product. People do not have to make their product local and common it damage their approach a lot.

In conclusion, People that are doing advertising but at a rear stage can get them the more sale. While the others who are advertising their product a lot can make it common and people start ignoring them and fell iritating from it.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You address both views and give a personal opinion, so the response is relevant to the whole task. The paragraph supporting advertising explains that promotion can make a product familiar and influence a shopper’s choice; the opposing paragraph says repeated adverts can irritate people and make them ignore a product. However, these points are only partly developed. The examples are hypothetical and do not explain clearly why advertising persuades consumers or when repetition becomes ineffective. Your opinion—that brands should advertise less often—is present, but the phrase “get more niche and sales” is unclear, and the conclusion mainly repeats earlier points. Develop each view with a clearer explanation and make your position more precise.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, your opinion, and a conclusion. This helps the reader identify the main stages of your argument. You also use basic linking expressions such as “On the other hand,” “As a result,” and “In conclusion.” However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes repetitive, and several sentences repeat the idea that frequent advertising makes people ignore or dislike a product. Some connections are unclear, particularly the opening claims about brands and sales, which are not fully linked to the discussion that follows. Use topic sentences to establish each paragraph’s main point, then explain and support it without restating the same claim.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

Your vocabulary is sufficient to communicate the general topic, with relevant terms such as “advertising,” “product,” “brand,” “quality,” and “attention.” However, the range is basic and repetitive, and several inaccurate word choices or collocations make parts difficult to understand. For example, “make a niche in the market” and “get more niche and sales” do not express your intended meaning clearly; “hyped” is also informal for this essay. Spelling errors such as “bughet,” “intrested,” “ammount,” and “irritating” further reduce accuracy. Build a more precise set of expressions for consumer behaviour and advertising, and check spelling and word forms carefully.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

You attempt both simple and longer sentences, including conditional and subordinate structures, but control is inconsistent. Errors in verb forms, agreement, articles, and sentence construction occur throughout and sometimes make the meaning hard to follow. For instance, “People spending a high amount” lacks a finite verb, while “Their product gain more sale” has problems with agreement and number. In “if a person go for shopping and he saw 2 products,” the verb forms do not remain consistent. Some sentences also contain unclear or incomplete grammatical patterns, such as “People do not have to make their product local and common it damage their approach.” Practise accurate basic clauses first, then combine them using controlled complex structures and review punctuation.
