Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5

You attempt to discuss both views and give an opinion: the benefits section explains that adverts can help shoppers compare prices and introduce new companies’ products, while the ending says advertising still receives attention. These are relevant points, but the opposing view is only briefly mentioned and is not clearly explained; the claim that people ignore adverts because similar products are cheaper does not directly show how advertising has become too common. Your position is also difficult to identify until the final sentence. The response contains 222 words, so it is 28 words below the required minimum. Develop each side with a clear explanation or example, then state your opinion directly and support it.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0

There is a basic attempt to move from an introduction to benefits, then to the opposing view and a conclusion. However, almost the entire response is written as one long paragraph, so the reader cannot easily distinguish the main stages of the argument. Ideas are often joined by repeated forms such as “and,” “so,” and “but,” rather than being organised into clear sentences and paragraphs. Some connections are hard to follow, particularly the shift from price comparison to the claim that advertising “force people to get your product.” Use separate paragraphs for the two views and your opinion, and make each paragraph develop one central point with clear linking and reference.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

You use some task-related vocabulary, including “advertisment,” “price difference,” “product,” “customers,” and “public,” so the general subject is recognisable. However, the range is basic and several words or phrases are repeated, especially “advertisment” and “product.” Frequent spelling errors, such as “neccesry,” “quailty,” and “purschasing,” make the writing harder to read. Some choices are also unclear or unnatural, for example “financially strong” for saving money and “it is not wrathed” in the final discussion. Build a more precise set of terms for persuasion and audience attention, and check spelling and collocations so your ideas are expressed clearly.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

The response attempts to connect ideas in longer sentences and uses a few basic structures, including “if you watched the advertisement before shopping” and “when the same product is in market.” However, sentence boundaries are often missing, and the long chains of clauses make relationships between ideas difficult to understand. There are frequent problems with verb forms and agreement, as in “advertisment have many benefits” and “it is pay attension,” as well as article and plural errors such as “a advertisment” and “companys.” Capitalisation and punctuation are also inconsistent. Practise writing shorter, complete sentences first, then add controlled subordinate clauses and check subject–verb agreement, articles, and sentence endings.
