Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0
You state a clear view that advertising influences buyers, and you give relevant examples such as social-media promotion and celebrities endorsing products. However, the task asks you to discuss both views, and the opposing view—that advertising is so widespread that people ignore it—is only mentioned in the opening and is not explained or supported. Your argument for advertising’s effectiveness is also asserted rather than developed; for example, the claim that publicity creates demand needs a specific explanation or example. The response ends mid-sentence, so it does not provide a complete conclusion. It is also 74 words below the required minimum, which limits how fully you can address and develop the task. Develop both sides and finish with a clear, supported opinion.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5
There is some basic organisation: the opening introduces the two views and your position, followed by paragraphs about advertising channels and its influence, then an attempted conclusion. Some linking is present, including “on the other hand,” “in fact,” and “in this way.” However, the opposing view is not carried into the body, so the discussion does not progress through both sides of the question. Connections between claims are sometimes abrupt, such as moving from AI platforms to new industries without explaining the relationship. The final sentence is incomplete, which leaves the response without a coherent ending. Use one paragraph for each view, connect examples explicitly to the main claim, and complete the conclusion.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You attempt topic-related vocabulary, including “capturing their attention,” “paramount impressions,” “promote their products,” and “huge demand.” These choices show an effort to use more than very basic language. However, spelling errors and inaccurate or unnatural word combinations are frequent enough to make parts difficult to read, for example “cosumers,” “purchses,” “imapct,” and “leaves paramount impressions on cosumers mind.” Some expressions are also imprecise: “televisions are full of advertisement” does not clearly describe where advertisements appear. Aim for accurate spelling and natural collocations, such as “advertising has a significant impact on consumers” and “television is saturated with advertisements.” Proofreading and choosing familiar, precise phrases will improve clarity.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You use mostly simple sentence patterns, with some attempts to combine ideas, such as “Some people think …, on the other hand some people consider …” and “Most of the new industries starts advertising … before launching them …”. These attempts show some range, but sentence boundaries and punctuation are not consistently controlled. There are also recurring errors in agreement and sentence structure: “everyone make use” should use a singular verb, and “Most of the new industries starts” has a plural subject with a singular verb. The opening joins two independent clauses with a comma, while the final sentence is unfinished. Practise forming complete sentences, checking subject–verb agreement, and using full stops or conjunctions to connect clauses accurately.
