Student answer (Band 5.5)

In modern era, many different types of media platforms are available, where some people believe that announcement of any products is encourage customers to buy things, while another people is think that promotion of the latest products is very ordinary, so consumers not attract from them. This essay will discuss both views and in my opinion do a promotion for new products is more usefull in influencing people's buying decisions.

First and foremost, advertising can be very successful to convince people to buy products. This is because companies use attractive pictures, special offers, famous influencers to catch people's attention. As a result, cutomers may interested to buy that product which is not actually required. For instance, when people see an any promotion for a new phone, they may want to buy it, either their current phone already in a good condition but still they want that new one. Another one, this is a good platform for produce new faces, because of this platform they may continue their work in big screen and take a good career opportunity. Therefore, advertisement may have a play strong influence on consumer.

On the other hand, some people believe that advertising has become too unusual, so people often ignore it. Nowadays, announcements are shows in every platforms. such as, social media, television, online wesites, and even public transport. Becuase of that people may bored from there repetations at everywhere. However, som eadvertisements still attract people's interest, especially when they offer discounts or promote new products. For instance, many people check online advertisements before buying that electronics items and clothes.

In conclusion, although many people ignore announcements because they see them so frequently, I believe that advertising is still effective. This is because that is attractive and special discounts can encourage them to purchasing the products.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address both views and state a clear opinion: advertising can influence buying decisions despite being widely encountered. The first body paragraph supports the persuasive view with examples involving attractive images, offers, influencers, and a new phone; the second explains why repeated exposure may lead people to ignore advertisements, while noting that discounts can still attract attention. These are relevant points, but some are less fully developed or clearly connected to the question. In particular, the point about advertising creating opportunities for new faces and careers is not explained as evidence that it persuades consumers to buy. To strengthen the response, develop each main reason with a clearer explanation and ensure every example directly supports the view being discussed.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a clear overall arrangement: an introduction, one paragraph for each view, and a conclusion that restates your position. Signposting such as “First and foremost,” “On the other hand,” and “In conclusion” helps readers follow the discussion. The ideas within paragraphs are generally ordered sensibly, and examples are used to illustrate claims. However, some connections are mechanical or unclear. For example, “Another one” introduces a point about career opportunities without showing how it relates to consumer persuasion, and “However” in the second body paragraph shifts to advertisements that still attract interest without clearly distinguishing this from the preceding point. Use more precise referencing and transitions, and make the relationship between each example and its main idea explicit.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “special offers,” “buying decisions,” “influencers,” and “discounts,” and you attempt a range of expressions such as “catch people’s attention” and “attractive pictures.” However, word choice and collocation are often inaccurate or repetitive, which sometimes makes meaning less clear. Examples include “announcement of any products,” “very ordinary,” “people may bored from there repetations,” and “a play strong influence.” There are also noticeable spelling errors, such as “cutomers,” “usefull,” and “wesites.” Build a more accurate set of topic-specific phrases and check spelling carefully. Prefer natural collocations such as “advertise products,” “become commonplace,” and “have a strong influence on consumers.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including clauses introduced by “because,” “while,” and “although.” This gives the response some structural variety, and the main argument is usually understandable. However, control is inconsistent, particularly in verb forms, agreement, articles, and sentence construction. For example, “announcement of any products is encourage customers” has an incorrect verb pattern, while “consumers not attract from them” is missing an auxiliary and uses an unclear construction. Other examples include “people may interested” and “advertisements are shows.” Some sentences also contain awkwardly joined ideas, as in the phone example. Practise forming complete clauses with accurate subject–verb agreement and auxiliaries, then proofread each sentence for articles and verb forms.
