Student answer (Band 4.5)

In todays modern world, some people say that advertising is extremely successful at persuading us to buy things. Other people think that advertising is so common that we no longer pay attention to it.

Both opinions are vaild in some points, i feel that its depend on the age fector also young generation they are very fast and skip all the advertisments and they have full access to internet and they know how to operate it and at the other side old generation like 90s people, they use to attracket by advertising things because in their timeline they were informed about new things by advertisings.

Old generation people, they were not having many other options to know about new trands, they were having only few options like, newspapers, news channals, bill boardings, etc. to got aware about new things.

Young generation people having social media, internet and too many other websites to know about new trands and they immediatly attract to those things which are showing in these channals.

Now a days advertising companies make their stratagy to show their advertisment to social media, such as youtube, tiktok and many more, and by force you have to watch that advertisment during your favourte show, before there was an option to skip that advertisment however now a days you can even skip that and when you watch same advertisment again and again 100 times so you automaticly clicked once that advertisment and by anything from there.

In this modern world, things what you are talking about, start coming in your social media advertisments, you can skip from it, it is truth.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5

You discuss both views by contrasting younger people, who can skip online adverts, with older people, whom you say relied more on advertising for information. This is relevant, but the response does not fully develop the task: the comparison is mainly about age and access to information, rather than explaining how advertising persuades people or why its ubiquity makes others ignore it. Your own opinion is only briefly signalled in “i feel that its depend on the age fector,” and the conclusion does not clearly state which view you support. The response is also 240 words, so it is 10 words below the required minimum; the 30 words copied from the prompt were not counted. Develop each view with a clear example and state your position directly.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0

The response has a basic overall structure: an opening, paragraphs about older and younger generations, and a final paragraph. The age-based grouping helps readers follow the central comparison. However, progression is limited because several paragraphs repeat the same point about younger people having internet access and older people having fewer sources of information. Connections between ideas are sometimes unclear, particularly in the long paragraph beginning “Now a days advertising companies make their stratagy,” where the shift from forced viewing to clicking and buying is difficult to follow. The final sentence also does not clearly conclude the discussion. Use topic sentences that distinguish the two views, link examples explicitly to each view, and finish with a concise statement of your opinion.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some task-relevant vocabulary, including “advertising,” “social media,” “newspapers,” and “bill boardings,” so the main subject is generally understandable. However, the range is limited and several words or phrases are repeated, especially “new trands” and “advertisment.” There are also noticeable spelling and word-choice problems, such as “vaild,” “attracket,” “channals,” and “stratagy,” which make the writing less clear and less controlled. Some expressions are not natural in this context, including “old generation people” and “by anything from there.” Build a more precise vocabulary for discussing influence and attention—for example, “persuade,” “ignore,” and “exposure”—and check spelling and collocations before submitting.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

You attempt some longer sentences and use basic linking structures such as “because,” “however,” and “when.” Nevertheless, sentence control is inconsistent, and errors frequently make relationships between ideas difficult to understand. For example, “i feel that its depend on the age fector also young generation they are very fast” lacks a clear grammatical structure, while “when you watch same advertisment again and again 100 times so you automaticly clicked once” mixes verb forms and has an unclear clause structure. There are also recurring problems with articles, agreement, and sentence boundaries, as in “Young generation people having social media.” Practise building accurate simple sentences first, then combine them with one subordinate clause; check that each sentence has a clear subject and correctly formed verb.
