Student answer (Band 6.0)

In today's fast-paced world, numerous individuals often say that advertisements become highly successful at convincing people to purchase products , others believe that the trends of advertising the products are expanding rapidly and it has become so common that's why the public stopped giving attention to them. Although, promotion of products is widespread in all businesses and people might lose some kind of attention for them . However,In my view advertising is still the main factor that triggers the customer to make a purchase. It plays a vital role.

Advertisement has already become enormously successful in getting potential sales by convincing individuals to make purchases. The emergence of social media has made it more effective and efficient to reach and all provide media platforms , companies use particular memes and funny videos in their promotions to get more engagement and this reach provides customers enjoyable movements and trigger them to make purchases . Similarly , companies use several tricks and persuade the public because only their particular product can become the solution of a customer's particular problems . For instance, Chinese manufacturers promote their products through social media influencers , who use particular items in everyday life to make their workflow efficient . Similarly, this practical experience can make the public believe that this particular products could be the measure of their obstacle.

On the other hand , advertising is increasingly becoming common so that makes individuals stop noticing it . The excessive use of commercials are rapidly expanding in every field of life that make people think they are familiar and ineffective . The printed and physical promotions such as posters , billboards , and flyers are displayed on every building and roads , this excessive usage could make people stop paying attention to them . Furthermore, individuals who use social media and watch hundreds of ads in their everyday life will not be convinced to make a purchase because of a particular ads , they might be aware of good or bad products so this approach will be ineffective to get significant outcomes.

Although, advertising might become widespread and people think it familiar and stop giving proper attention . However, I believe that commercials and promotions are still playing a significant role in getting particular results and convincing the public to purchase products because they pretend to be a solution to common problems .

In conclusion, advertising is an important factor for every businesses and companies in getting potential sales and convincing them to make purchase. Nevertheless, excessive use of commercials could make individuals to do not consider them worth for attention. In my opinion, although too much usage of advertising might be ineffective but it still play a vital role to reach potential audience and get particular sales.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

You address both views and give a clear opinion: the opening and conclusion maintain that advertising still influences purchasing, while the body paragraphs explain both persuasive techniques and advertising saturation. The examples of social-media influencers and repeated billboards are relevant, and the discussion of how promotions present products as solutions supports your position. This meets the task well, with some elements showing stronger development than others. However, the point that frequent exposure makes advertising ineffective is asserted more than explained, and some claims—such as ads reaching “significant outcomes”—remain general. To strengthen the response further, develop the contrast with a specific explanation of when repeated exposure reduces attention and why targeted or persuasive advertising can still prompt purchases.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a coherent overall structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a conclusion that restates your position. The contrast between the views is easy to follow, and examples generally appear in the relevant paragraph. However, cohesion is sometimes mechanical or faulty. “Although” and “However” are repeatedly paired or used in ways that do not fit the sentence, including “Although, promotion of products is widespread…” and the final body paragraph. “Similarly” is also repeated, even where the next point adds an example rather than a parallel idea. Some references, such as “this approach,” are not fully precise. Use fewer linking phrases, connect each sentence by meaning, and ensure each paragraph develops one clear line of reasoning.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use a range of topic-related vocabulary, including “potential sales,” “social media influencers,” “excessive use,” and “persuade,” which helps communicate the main ideas. There are also attempts at less common expressions, such as “triggers the customer” and “practical experience.” However, word choice and collocation are often inaccurate or unnatural, and repeated general terms such as “particular,” “products,” and “people” limit precision. Phrases such as “enjoyable movements,” “measure of their obstacle,” and “worth for attention” make some meanings difficult to interpret. Aim for natural combinations and more exact wording; for example, describe an ad as “capturing consumers’ attention” rather than using an unclear phrase. Proofread for word forms and spacing around punctuation as well.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including clauses beginning with “Although” and explanations using “because,” and the overall meaning is usually recoverable. However, complex sentences are often faulty, and errors in agreement, articles, plurals, and verb patterns occur throughout. For example, “The excessive use of commercials are” should have a singular verb, while “this particular products” has a mismatch in number. The construction “make individuals to do not consider” is also not grammatical. Several sentences combine clauses awkwardly, especially in the introduction and conclusion, and punctuation around transitions is inconsistent. Practise building shorter, accurate sentences first, then add subordinate clauses; check subject–verb agreement and the form of verbs after “make.”
