Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You address both views and state your own position: you support the idea that advertising is successful, and you mention that some people consider it too common to notice. However, the discussion is only partial. The first view is supported mainly by the claim that advertising helps people find products without travelling, while the opposing view is described as “an old thinking” rather than explained with a clear reason, such as people becoming accustomed to repeated adverts. Your opinion is repeated in the final section, but the claim that advertising helps people decide which product is better is not illustrated or developed. Explain each view more fully and use specific examples to support your position.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has a recognisable structure, with separate sections for the two views and your opinion, and phrases such as “In my opinion” and “So the conclusion” help signal your direction. However, the numbered headings and repeated section labels make the essay feel like notes rather than a connected discussion. Progression between ideas is limited: several sentences repeat that advertising is successful or useful without adding a new point, and links such as “Because” do not always connect smoothly to the preceding sentence. Build conventional paragraphs around one main idea each, then use clear references and linking phrases to show how the explanation supports that idea.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
You use some vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “advertising,” “persuading,” “modern age,” and “information,” so the reader can generally identify your subject and position. However, the range is limited and several word choices, collocations, and spellings are inaccurate or repetitive. For example, “advertizing adds” is unclear, “make attentive and attractive them” is not a natural way to describe the effect of adverts, and “fruitful” does not fit the intended meaning of helpful advertising. Repeated use of “easy” and “successful” also limits precision. Aim to learn topic-specific phrases such as “capture consumers’ attention” and “influence purchasing decisions,” and check spelling and word forms carefully.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
Your writing relies mainly on short, simple statements, with a few attempts to connect ideas using “because” and “so.” These attempts show some effort to vary sentence structure, but control is inconsistent. Examples include “It make easy for them,” “advertising make it easy,” and “I am agree with,” where verb forms or sentence patterns are faulty. Articles and sentence boundaries are also problematic, as in “the advertising is extremely successful .” and “What is happining around us,” which is left as a fragment. These errors occur frequently enough to make parts of the response difficult to follow. Practise accurate subject–verb agreement and complete sentences before adding more complex structures.
