Student answer (Band 5.5)

Some people believe that advertinsing is extreamly successfull tool at persuading us to buy things. other argue, that advertising is so common that we no longer pay attention to it. In my opinion, it plays an important role in our daily life to take decesions. In this essay i will explain both views with examples.

On the one hand, those who believe that advertising is so common because it came sevral time in front of us and we ignore it. For example, a 70 year old person waching video on youtube and it get a advertising of hosting website which is completely irrelevant for him without right direction and tools it is uselessbecause that person have interest in hosting or maybe he didnot know what is hosting?. Furthermore, advertising without a clear direction and targeting is useless.

On the other hand, those who think advertising is a successful tool because it change our mind to buy something which is not important for us. For instance, a person who is watching TV and feel hungry right now, suddenly a pizza advertise pop up on his TV screen more likely his mind want to eat that pizza and here is the chance he will be order that though mention phone number in the ads. In my opinion, advertising play and important role in our daily life to take decesions all things matter is the right audience and right time.

In conclusion, advertising plays an important role in our daily life if companies know the proper audience and right platform where they need to advertise their product to increase the sale.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You discuss both views and give a clear personal position: advertising can influence decisions when it reaches the right audience at the right time. The YouTube example illustrates why irrelevant advertising may be ignored, while the pizza example shows how an advert can prompt a purchase. However, the discussion is only partly developed. The first example focuses on one older viewer and an unrelated hosting advert, so it does not explain more broadly why people may stop noticing advertising. The second example is more relevant, but the explanation of how the advert changes the viewer’s decision could be clearer. Develop each view with fuller reasoning and make your opinion consistent and explicit throughout. The response meets the required length; 13 words copied from the task prompt were not counted.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a conclusion. The signposts “On the one hand,” “On the other hand,” and “In conclusion” help readers follow the basic organisation. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes difficult to follow, particularly in the first body paragraph, where the example and the claim about targeting are joined without a clear explanation. The long sentence beginning “For example, a 70 year old person…” contains several ideas that would be easier to understand if divided and linked more precisely. The conclusion repeats the point about audience and timing rather than drawing together the two views. Use clearer sentence boundaries and connect each example directly to the claim it supports.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “advertising,” “targeting,” “audience,” “platform,” and “increase the sale,” which helps communicate the main ideas. However, the range is limited and several word-choice, spelling, and collocation errors make parts of the response difficult to read. Examples include “advertinsing,” “extreamly successfull,” “take decesions,” and “a pizza advertise.” Some expressions are also imprecise, such as “came sevral time in front of us” and “right direction and tools.” Aim for accurate, natural phrases such as “appears repeatedly,” “influences purchasing decisions,” and “a pizza advert appears.” Proofreading spelling and choosing precise collocations would make your meaning clearer and more convincing.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a conditional idea in “if companies know the proper audience” and a sentence explaining how an advert may affect a viewer. However, control is inconsistent, and errors in verb forms, agreement, articles, and sentence construction sometimes make the meaning hard to follow. For example, “advertising play” needs subject–verb agreement, while “it change our mind” has an incorrect verb form and unclear pronoun reference. The sentence beginning “For example, a 70 year old person…” also contains several clauses that are not joined clearly. Practise building accurate sentences with one main idea, then add subordinate clauses carefully. Check agreement, tense, articles, and punctuation when editing.
