Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.0

You introduce the topic and make a relevant point that advertising can attract customers through discounts and sales. However, the response does not discuss both views: it gives little explanation of why advertising persuades people and does not explain the opposing view that people ignore advertising because it is so common. Your own opinion is also not clearly stated, and the ideas are not developed with examples or explanation. The response contains 75 words, so it is 175 words short of the 250-word minimum; 11 words copied from the task prompt were excluded from that count. To improve, address each part of the question in separate, developed points and state your position clearly in the introduction and conclusion.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 3.0

There is a basic attempt to organise the response: the opening introduces the debate, and the next sentence gives a reason advertising may attract buyers. The phrase “because advertising attracts people” signals a supporting explanation, while “for instance” introduces examples of advertising channels. However, the response has no clear paragraph structure or conclusion, and the ideas do not progress through a complete discussion of both views. The long second sentence joins several points without clear punctuation, making their relationships difficult to follow. Use separate paragraphs for the two views and your opinion, and connect each point with clear, accurate transitions and references.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “advertising,” “product,” “discounts,” “sales,” and “social media,” so the reader can identify the subject and your main point. However, the range is narrow and several expressions are repetitive, particularly “attracts people to a particular product” and repeated references to “products.” Some word choices and forms are inaccurate, such as “one of the best way” and “towards a products,” while “sucessful” and “adertising” are misspelled. These errors do not prevent the general meaning from being understood, but they limit precision and control. Build a wider set of accurate phrases for persuasion, consumer behaviour, and advertising saturation, and proofread spelling and word forms.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

The response includes simple statements and an attempt to extend an idea with a reason and examples, as in “because advertising attracts people … as well as offers discounts and sales.” This shows some effort to form a more complex sentence, but control is uneven. The opening contains an unnecessary comma after “think that,” and the second sentence begins with a lowercase “because” after a full stop. The phrase “one of the best way” also has an agreement error, and the long sentence lacks clear punctuation and a complete, well-controlled structure. Practise accurate sentence boundaries, subject–verb agreement, and plural forms, then use a few carefully constructed complex sentences to explain each view.
