Student answer (Band 6.0)

Some individuals say adverts are now so common and people do not pay attentions to it. Some other individuals believe that running adverts is the main reason why people are pressured to buy things. In my own experience, adverts has its own positive returns and as well as its negative side to businesses, depending on some important factors.

There are diffents factors to consider before putting up and advert, that makes it succesful and attractive to the public. An advertisement represents your company, what you offer, and if its going to solve the problems of the consumer. The choice of models or influencers used for a product showcase, will detrmine its success, as well as the location of the advert and the content. Let's take for example, running ads done by sports brands display slim and fit individuals running on tracks, wearing different gears of the brand. This sells you the idea of the gears improving their performance. Athletes who watch this kind of adverts, will want to purchase and try on those gears themselves, expecting same results. However, the target audience matters a lot. Educational adverts are focused on teenagers and young adults, because they have the time and capabilities to study and not the elderly ones.

Social media has made it easy to reach people nationwide, as well as worlwide. A lot of companies now put adverts and sponsor it on different social media platforms. When you search a keyword relating to any product, fliers of all kind from different companies starts to pop up on your timeline. This is now so common that people dont pay attention anymore, because they are all saying thesame thing. Futhermore, Artificial intellegience has increased the number of fake adverts in the society; videos, pictures, product design, company location and websites as well. People do not pay attention to all adverts they come across, because they believe most are fake and put up by scammers.

In conclusion, i believe good adverts are successful in presuuring people to buy thing if the aforementioned factors are considered. This help avoid people ignoring and tagging wrong narratives towards a product.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

The response discusses both views: it explains how targeted adverts, such as sports-brand campaigns featuring athletes, can encourage purchases, and how repeated social-media adverts and suspected scams may lead people to ignore them. Your opinion is also stated in the introduction and conclusion: effective advertising can persuade people when certain factors are considered. However, the discussion is uneven. The first view receives a concrete example, while the claim that advertising pressures people to buy is not explored as fully, and the conclusion mainly repeats your position rather than weighing the two views. Develop the persuasive mechanisms and the limits of advertising more directly, then make your final judgement clearer about which view you find more convincing.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The essay has a clear overall structure, with an introduction, two main discussion paragraphs and a conclusion. The examples generally follow the points they illustrate, and signposts such as “However,” “Furthermore” and “In conclusion” help readers follow the argument. At times, though, the progression within paragraphs is less controlled: the second body paragraph moves from social-media reach to repetitive adverts and then to AI-generated scams without clearly showing how each point develops the central idea. Some linking phrases also feel mechanical, and references such as “This” in the conclusion are not fully precise. Group related points more tightly and use explicit topic sentences and clearer references to strengthen the flow.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use a relevant range of topic vocabulary, including “target audience,” “influencers,” “sponsor,” “platforms” and “scammers,” which helps communicate the subject. There are also attempts at more specific phrasing, such as “product showcase” and “wrong narratives,” but some combinations are unnatural or imprecise, and repeated use of “adverts” and “people” limits flexibility. Spelling and word-form errors—including “diffents,” “succesful,” “worlwide” and “intellegience”—also reduce accuracy. Aim for more natural collocations and check spelling carefully; for example, describe adverts as “targeted at” an audience and say that they “influence purchasing decisions.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

The response includes both straightforward sentences and attempts at complex structures, for example, “When you search a keyword relating to any product…” and the sentence beginning “However, the target audience matters a lot.” Meaning is generally clear, but some errors in agreement, articles, plurals and sentence construction remain. Examples include “adverts has,” “people do not pay attentions,” “fliers … starts to pop up,” and “This help avoid.” The opening sentence also has an awkward construction, while the long sentence about sports brands would benefit from clearer clause boundaries. Review subject–verb agreement and singular/plural forms, and proofread punctuation and sentence structure so that complex ideas remain easy to follow.
