Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
You discuss both views: advertising can encourage purchases through television, social media and influencers, while some consumers distrust claims they consider fake. You also indicate a position by saying advertising is important for economic growth and employment. However, the discussion is only partially developed: the examples are brief, and the conclusion does not clearly weigh the two views or explain your opinion about whether advertising still persuades people. The phrase “although it has several disadvantages passes through advantages” makes your final judgement difficult to understand. The response contains 228 words, so it is 22 words below the required minimum; this limits the space available to develop your ideas. Explain each view more clearly and state your own position directly.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, separate paragraphs beginning “On the one hand” and “On the other hand,” and a concluding paragraph. These markers help readers identify the two sides of the discussion. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes difficult to follow because several ideas are joined without clear relationships. For example, the influencer point moves quickly from companies using influencers to “better reward” and increased sales, without explaining the connection. Some linking phrases, including “Hence” and “To illustrate,” do not make the following idea clear, and the conclusion introduces economic growth and employment without linking them back to the two views. Use clearer topic sentences and develop each point in a logical sequence.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “advertising,” “consumer,” “social media platform,” “influencer,” and “economical growth,” so the subject is generally identifiable. However, the range is limited and several inaccurate word choices or spellings make meaning unclear. For example, “brought a thinks by attract” does not clearly express buying something because of an advertisement, while “fake demand” and “give batter reward” are difficult to interpret. There is also repetition of “advertising” and “people,” and “TV add” is an inaccurate form. Aim for precise, natural collocations and check spelling and word forms. For instance, describe consumers as being “persuaded by an advertisement” and companies as “promoting products through influencers.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a contrastive opening with “although” and a reason clause beginning “because.” However, control is inconsistent, and errors in verb forms, agreement, articles and sentence construction frequently make ideas hard to follow. Examples include “advertising is became,” “This essay will first evaluated,” and “consumer are gives.” The sentence about young people buying something after watching television also has an unclear subject and verb pattern. Some sentences are understandable, but complex attempts often become faulty, as in the final sentence of the conclusion. Practise building accurate basic clauses first, then combine them with one clear subordinate clause. Check that each subject has a matching verb and that verbs use the correct tense and form.
