Student answer (Band 5.0)

Some people think advertisning is extremely successful at persuading us to buy thing but other people believes that advertising is so common that we no pay attention. I strongly agree with this point of view that advertisment is successful at encourage us to buy things. Because nowadays people use social media frequently applications like instagaram and facebook there is a lot of pages here that shows advertisment and get order only from advertising their producut in different ways.

On the other hand, some people believe that it is common and no longer attract customers. They said this because they think everyone know about the goal behind the advertisment. specially today, there are so many advertisments we see in our daily life so if we see with this point of view it is now common.

On the other hand, some people argue that it is sucessful at attract audience to buy things. They said this because the good advertisment target the audience of that field and it encourage them throuhgh it to buy.

In my opinion, I believe this is right that advertisment is successfull at persuading us to buy things because it shows only that thing which is runing in our mind. It play with by doing things that human mind is easily accepted. For example, A person who have interested in tech things and he watch the same things on social media as well. Today application algorithim is related to history of the user. So, that applications shows only tech related products or advertisments to this user and encourage him to buy this product that is shown in advertisment.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You discuss both views and state a clear preference for the view that advertising persuades people to buy, especially through social-media targeting. The example of a user interested in technology helps explain your position. However, the two sides are not developed evenly: the claim that advertising is now so common that people ignore it is mainly repeated, with little explanation or example of when this happens. Some reasoning is also unclear, such as “it shows only that thing which is runing in our mind.” To strengthen the response, explain the opposing view more fully, then make the comparison between the two views explicit and support your conclusion with a precise example. (16 words copied from the task prompt were not counted.)

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response has a basic paragraph structure, and the final paragraph returns to your opinion and gives a relevant example. However, progression between ideas is limited, and the repeated opening “On the other hand” is confusing: it introduces the opposing view in one paragraph, then appears again before a point supporting your own view. This makes the relationship between paragraphs less clear. Some links within sentences are also awkward, particularly the opening explanation beginning “Because nowadays people use social media.” Organise the essay into a clear introduction, one paragraph for each view, and a conclusion; use linking phrases that accurately show contrast, support, or result, and make references such as “this” unambiguous.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use relevant topic vocabulary, including “advertising,” “target the audience,” “social media,” and “algorithm,” so the reader can follow the main subject. However, the range is limited and several words or phrases are repeated, especially “advertisment” and “buy things.” There are also noticeable spelling and word-choice problems, such as “instagaram,” “producut,” “sucessful,” and “attract audience,” which reduce precision and sometimes slow the reader. Aim to check spelling carefully and use more accurate collocations, for example, “persuade consumers to purchase” and “capture customers’ attention.” Vary repeated terms with suitable alternatives, while ensuring that each choice fits the meaning.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt some longer sentences to explain cause and give an example, but the range is limited and complex constructions are often faulty. Errors in agreement and verb forms occur in phrases such as “other people believes,” “pages … that shows,” and “it encourage them.” There are also problems with articles and sentence boundaries: “Because nowadays people use social media…” is an incomplete sentence, while “A person who have interested…” is not grammatically complete. These errors sometimes make the intended relationships difficult to follow. Practise building accurate simple sentences first, then combine them with clauses using “because,” “which,” and “so.” Check subject–verb agreement, verb patterns, and punctuation when editing.
