Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.5

The response makes a limited attempt to discuss advertising, mentioning its influence on people, product popularity, and possible positive and negative effects. However, it does not clearly explain either view in the question: that advertising persuades people to buy, or that its ubiquity makes people ignore it. The opening is difficult to interpret, and the examples of TV channels, websites, and social media are listed without showing how they support a view. The conclusion also does not state a clear personal opinion. To strengthen the response, address both sides directly in separate, developed points, explain why each is convincing, and finish with an explicit position supported by a relevant example.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0

There is a basic paragraph structure, with an opening, a paragraph beginning “Moreover,” and a conclusion signalled by “In conclusion.” These markers show an attempt to organise the response. However, the ideas within paragraphs do not progress clearly, and the relationship between sentences is often hard to follow. For example, the sequence from advertising on websites to companies increasing purchases and then credit-card effects is not logically explained. “Moreover” introduces possible improvements rather than a clearly connected second view. Use one paragraph for each side of the debate, with a clear topic sentence and supporting explanation, and ensure each sentence develops the point before moving on.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

The response attempts topic-related vocabulary, including “advertising,” “product,” “influence,” “lifestyle,” and “positive and negative effects.” It also refers to familiar advertising platforms, which could provide relevant examples. However, frequent spelling errors and inaccurate or unclear word choices make several ideas difficult to understand, such as “permutation,” “the ads can have direct people,” and “popular the product.” Some phrases are repeated without adding precision. Choose accurate collocations and check spelling, and use vocabulary that expresses the argument directly—for example, “persuade consumers to purchase” or “become accustomed to advertisements.” This would make the intended meaning clearer and give the response a more appropriate range for the topic.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

The response attempts both simple statements and longer sentences, including “It mainly depend on how people use the brand product and how they deal with the situation.” This shows an effort to connect ideas using clauses. However, sentence structures are often incomplete or inaccurately formed, which makes meaning difficult to follow. Examples include “The main reasons is that TV channal advertising the ads can have dircet people on society” and “People should have proper knowledge and should make responsible decisions.” The latter is more understandable, but the surrounding sentences do not consistently show control of clause structure or agreement. Practise writing complete subject–verb–object sentences, checking subject–verb agreement and articles, and then combine related ideas with accurate subordinate clauses.
