Student answer (Band 5.0)

Some people mention that adds are significantly motivate custemers to purchase , while others believe that advertising is so common that we are ignoring it. I claim that, advertising have huge impact on people purchasing decision.

From my prospective, i claim that people consider adds as wasting of time because they think advertising is for their personal benefits. For example, i want to get yotube subscription without adds which may coast for more money, but i am happy with that, and the reason is i am thinking that i am protecting myself from iterupting my focus in addition, adds are interupting our attention while watching some movies. as result, advertising is the way of showing the good side of a product.

on the other hand, i agree that advertising are a beneficial way of purchasing. the exact reason for that action is to interduce the products and to attract consumers. For instance, I didnt know how to remove stain from clothes, but after watching the actual stain remover in the add. i decide to buy that for my need. although there are pros and cons of adds on our purchasing decision. Meanwhile we have to learn and know new changes in market products . overall, adds are important to know the invention of new thing in the world.

in conclusion, in my opinion advertising is the easiest way to bring new thing to the community and society meanwhile it makes people familier with world.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You address both views and state your position in the introduction: you believe advertising has a “huge impact” on purchasing decisions. The stain-remover example also supports the view that advertising can persuade people to buy. However, the discussion is only partially developed. The first body paragraph focuses on avoiding interruptions and paying for an ad-free subscription, but it does not clearly explain how this demonstrates that people no longer pay attention to advertising. Your conclusion says advertising introduces new things, without fully weighing the two views or clarifying your position. The response is also six words below the required minimum. Develop each side with a direct explanation and a relevant example, then make your final judgement explicit.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response has an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion, and phrases such as “on the other hand” signal a change in viewpoint. However, the overall progression is not consistently clear: the first body paragraph moves from ad-free subscriptions to interruptions and then to advertising’s positive side, so its central point becomes difficult to follow. The second paragraph also shifts from persuasion to market changes without clearly connecting these ideas. Some linking expressions, including “although” and “Meanwhile,” do not show the intended relationship between sentences. Give each paragraph one clear purpose, arrange its explanation and example in sequence, and use linking words only where their meaning fits.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use relevant topic vocabulary, including “advertising,” “consumers,” “purchasing decision” and “stain remover,” and the examples make your meaning generally understandable. However, the range is limited and several word choices, collocations and spelling errors make the writing less clear or natural. Examples include “adds” for “ads,” “custemers,” “coast” for “cost,” “interupting,” and “familier.” Phrases such as “advertising are a beneficial way of purchasing” and “the actual stain remover in the add” are also awkward or imprecise. Build a small set of accurate expressions for discussing persuasion and attention, and check spelling and word forms carefully. More precise vocabulary would help distinguish ignoring adverts from choosing to avoid them.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a contrast introduced by “while” and a reason introduced by “because.” However, the range is limited, and complex sentences are often faulty. For example, “advertising have huge impact” has subject–verb agreement and article errors, while “advertising are a beneficial way” also has agreement problems. The sentence beginning “although there are pros and cons” is not properly connected to the following sentence, and punctuation is inconsistent, especially around sentence boundaries and after introductory phrases. These errors sometimes make relationships between ideas difficult to follow. Practise accurate subject–verb agreement, articles and sentence boundaries, then build longer sentences from two correctly formed clauses.
