Some people say that advertising is extremely successful at persuading us to buy things. Other people think that advertising is so common that we no longer pay attention to it. Discuss both views and give your own opinion.
Student answer (Band 5.5)
People have different views about whether advertising has substantial amount of effects on our choices to purchase products or it is so widespreaded that people do not pay attention to it. While both perspectives have their own merits, I believe that it is exremely successful at persuading us to buy things because it proves the business branding value and attracts public interest.
On the one hand, Some people believe that advertisement affected a lot on person's choice. The main reason for this is that people watch ads of different products on different social media platforms. For instance, many businesses advertise their products from social media celebrities and gain a valuable number of customers. People often influenced from such marketing compaign and buy the company products. Therefore, supporters of this perspective argues these marketing trends effects people minds to choose product.
On the other hand, other believe that these compaign become so common that we are not paying much attention to it. This is because everyone is advertising their products through different websites and most of them advertising low quality products. For example, apps like Facebook and Instagrams are flooded with huge number of ads, people even do not give a slight glance. Whereas, in past many businesses advertise the low quality product which reduces the trust of public as well. As a result , mostly people do not give value to these advetising compaign.
In conclusion, although some people support that advertising has no longer value because of its became too vagues, i believe that it has gained significant amount of success at persue us to buy things.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You address both views and state your own position clearly in the introduction and conclusion: you favour the view that advertising persuades people to buy. The examples about social-media celebrities and ads on Facebook and Instagram are relevant, and the response stays on topic. However, the explanation is limited: the first view is mainly supported by saying that people see ads and then buy products, while the opposing view relies on the volume of ads and concerns about product quality. Develop the reasoning further—for example, explain how celebrity endorsements influence trust, or why repeated exposure makes audiences ignore advertisements. Your conclusion repeats your position but does not add a developed final insight, so some parts of the task are addressed more fully than others.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a clear overall arrangement: an introduction, one paragraph for each view, and a conclusion. The signposts “On the one hand,” “On the other hand,” and “In conclusion” help readers follow the discussion, and examples are placed within the relevant paragraphs. Cohesion is sometimes mechanical, however, because several sentences rely on “This is because,” “For instance,” and “As a result” without making the relationship between ideas fully clear. In the second body paragraph, the shift from people ignoring ads to past low-quality products reducing public trust is abrupt. Use clearer links between these points and make each paragraph progress from its main claim to explanation and evidence.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “persuading,” “social media platforms,” “marketing trends,” and “public interest,” and the meaning is generally understandable. There are also attempts at less common expressions, such as “business branding value,” but some are inaccurate or unnatural, and spelling errors are noticeable: “widespreaded,” “compaign,” “advetising,” and “persue.” Phrases such as “affected a lot on person's choice” and “gain a valuable number of customers” also show imprecise word choice or collocation. These issues make parts of the argument less clear and keep the vocabulary from being consistently effective. Build accuracy by learning common advertising collocations and checking spelling and word forms before submitting.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt a mix of simple and complex sentences, including a concession in the opening (“While both perspectives have their own merits”) and a conditional-style explanation (“This is because…”). However, control is uneven, and errors sometimes make the reader pause. For example, “people often influenced” is missing an auxiliary verb, while “supporters of this perspective argues” has a subject–verb agreement error. There are also problems with articles and sentence construction in “on person's choice” and “most of them advertising low quality products.” Capitalisation and punctuation are inconsistent, including “Some” after a comma and the lowercase “i” in the conclusion. Practise accurate clause formation and agreement, then proofread each sentence for complete verbs and punctuation.
