Student answer (Band 5.5)

Nowdays , advertisements are everywhere. We can see them in television, mobile phones or social media. Some people bealive that advertising are very usefull for us to nuy new things. While other think that advertisements are very common we can see them everywhere so its no longer pay attension to it.

On the one hand, advertising encourage people to buy new things.Company show good picture and videos for public attention.they also use face of famous actor and celebrity to promote their product . for example ,when people see advertisement about a new mobile phone than they wish to buy them and think about it.advertisements also give information about product and make easy purchase for people.

On the other hand, some people think that advertise are very common and people see them everywhere. so this is very common thing and people do not pay attension on it.For example when people use teir mobile phone and they see same advertise again and again, then people getting bor and irritating from advertising. Therefore ,some advertisement give fake information to attract customers.

In my opinion , advertisements are usefull because they help us to learn about new product and information. However people should not buy everything see in advertising. They should think carefully ane research about the product before buyin and spending money.

In conclusion, advertising can encourage people's buying, but many people ignore them because of everywhere.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You address both views and give your own opinion: the first body paragraph explains how advertising can encourage purchases, while the second describes people ignoring repeated adverts, and the conclusion restates both points. However, the ideas are limited and often under-developed. The mobile-phone example supports the persuasive view, but the claim that adverts provide product information is not explained further; similarly, the point about false information is introduced without an example. Your opinion is present, though it could be clearer and more fully supported. The response also does not meet the 250-word minimum, which limits the space available to develop the discussion. Add specific explanations or examples for each main point.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, two paragraphs presenting opposing views, your opinion, and a conclusion. The signposts “On the one hand,” “On the other hand,” and “In my opinion” help readers follow the basic organisation. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes weak: several claims are placed next to one another without clear explanation, and the conclusion largely repeats the introduction rather than drawing the discussion together. Linking is also repetitive, particularly the repeated use of “so” and “for example,” and some references are unclear, as in “people do not pay attention to it.” Use a wider range of links and make each sentence’s connection to the main point explicit.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “advertisements,” “promote,” “customers,” and “product.” There are also attempts at relevant expressions such as “fake information” and “attract customers.” However, the range is limited and several words or phrases are repeated, especially “common,” “people,” and “advertising.” Frequent spelling errors, including “Nowdays,” “bealive,” “attension,” and “usefull,” make the writing less clear and reduce accuracy. Some combinations are also unnatural, such as “getting bor and irritating from advertising.” Build a bank of accurate topic vocabulary, check spelling carefully, and practise natural collocations such as “become irritated by repeated adverts.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple sentences and longer structures, including a contrast with “While other think…” and a conditional example beginning “when people see…”. However, the range is limited, and attempts to combine ideas often contain frequent errors that can make the reader pause. Examples include “advertising encourage” and “Company show,” where subject–verb agreement is incorrect, and “people getting bor,” which lacks a correctly formed verb phrase. Articles and sentence boundaries are also inconsistent: “advertisement about a new mobile phone than…” is not formed correctly, and several sentences run together after full stops. Practise accurate subject–verb agreement, complete clauses, and punctuation before adding more complex sentence patterns.
