Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You discuss both views and state a preference for the first, saying advertising is “mostly successful” and later that it is “much more important.” The examples about Nishat Linen and adverts interrupting dramas are relevant. However, the position is not fully clear or consistently explained: the opening says advertising succeeds, while the conclusion also stresses that frequent adverts frustrate people, without resolving how these points shape your opinion. Several ideas remain general, such as saying people “admire” products after seeing adverts, with little explanation of how this leads to purchases. The response also contains 231 words, below the required 250, so the discussion is short and some points are under-developed. Extend the explanation and complete the final thought, which currently ends “because we just”.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs signposted by “firstly” and “secondly,” and a conclusion. This helps the reader identify the two views. However, progression within paragraphs is limited, and links between claims are sometimes unclear. For example, “people mostly use costomize things so they totally ignored advertisment” is not clearly connected to the opening claim, while the first body paragraph moves quickly from companies spending money to people wanting to buy products. Some linking words are repetitive or mechanically used, and punctuation and spacing make boundaries between ideas harder to follow. The conclusion repeats earlier points but does not fully resolve them, and its final sentence is unfinished. Use clearer topic sentences and explain each example before moving to the next point.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “billboards,” “products,” “frustrating,” and “skip,” and you attempt to discuss advertising’s influence and drawbacks. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations make meaning unclear, such as “customize things,” “admire about these things,” and “the main source to commercalies their things.” Repetition of “adds” and “things” also reduces precision. Spelling errors—including “disscuss,” “powerfull,” “advertisment,” and “conculusion”—are noticeable and sometimes slow the reader. Aim to use more precise topic vocabulary and check spelling carefully. For instance, describe consumers as being “persuaded” or “influenced,” rather than saying they “admire” products when you mean they want to purchase them.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple statements and longer sentences, but the range is limited and complex attempts are often faulty. Errors in sentence structure and agreement appear in examples such as “many adds are appears” and “most companies spent millions,” while missing or incorrect articles and prepositions occur in “for society to getting the information” and “the main source to” promote products. Sentence boundaries and punctuation are also inconsistent, with several ideas joined or separated unclearly. These errors can make the reader pause to interpret your meaning, although the main points are generally recoverable. Practise building accurate simple sentences first, then combine them using clauses such as “because” or “although.” Check subject–verb agreement, verb forms, articles, and sentence endings during proofreading.
