Some people say that advertising is extremely successful at persuading us to buy things. Other people think that advertising is so common that we no longer pay attention to it. Discuss both views and give your own opinion.

Student answer (Band 5.0)

Yeah, I belive that advertising is affected to buy product. Beacause when peoples are watching a ad for the first time, they are totatlly attracted. They are research for the things for how to buy? what is price? is it avalaible on online market? Especially if this product are essential or coustomers is liked the product. So, I am totally agree with this first opinion advertisment are syclogical effect on us to buying product.

On the other hand, a lot of people is disagree advertising doesn't effect. I think they are also correct in my point of view. Advertising, marketing is playing a part of rules to effect people, but not hundreed percent. Many of people never impressed by any of AD. They are buying products by their own choice. They belive advertisment is a common things it is only for marketing purpose, knowing people abot their company.

I am agree with the both opinion, but the first opinion is best than the second. Marketing is very essential and very affective reason to increase your selling ratio. Now a days people selling product by online marketing like from facebook, instragam, website. Peoples are enjoy the system and used it everyday.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You address both views and give a preference: you explain that advertising can attract customers and prompt them to research a product, while some people ignore adverts and buy by choice. Your position is clearest in the conclusion, where you say the first view is stronger, but earlier you say you agree with both without explaining how these views can be reconciled. The supporting ideas remain limited: for example, the claim that adverts have a “sychlogical effect” is not illustrated with a specific example or explanation. The response also does not meet the required minimum length, which leaves the discussion and support underdeveloped. Develop each view with a clear reason and example, then state your position consistently.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a basic overall structure: the first paragraph presents one view, “On the other hand” introduces the opposing view, and the final paragraph gives your opinion. These signals help the reader follow the broad direction. However, progression within paragraphs is less clear. The opening moves quickly from attraction to questions about price and online availability, without showing how these points connect. Some linking is also mechanical or unclear, such as “So” and “but not hundreed percent,” and the conclusion repeats earlier claims rather than drawing them together. Use topic sentences and connect each supporting point explicitly to the paragraph’s main idea; clearer referencing would also help readers identify who “they” refers to.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “advertising,” “marketing,” “customers,” “essential,” and “online marketing.” This gives you enough basic language to communicate the main subject. However, the range is limited and several inaccurate word choices or collocations make parts difficult to understand, such as “advertising is affected to buy product,” “research for the things,” and “increase your selling ratio.” Spelling errors, including “belive,” “totatlly,” and “instragam,” also reduce clarity. Build a bank of accurate topic phrases and check spelling carefully. Prefer natural expressions such as “influence consumers’ purchasing decisions” and “increase sales,” and use “advertisement” or “advert” consistently rather than the unclear “AD.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both short statements and longer sentences with reasons, for example, “I think they are also correct in my point of view.” However, the range of sentence structures is limited, and frequent errors in basic grammar sometimes make the meaning difficult to follow. Examples include “when peoples are watching a ad,” “this product are essential,” and “I am totally agree”; these involve agreement, articles, and verb patterns. Several questions are also embedded without appropriate sentence structure or punctuation: “what is price? is it avalaible on online market?” Practise forming complete sentences with accurate subject–verb agreement and articles, and use subordinate clauses to explain ideas. Proofread punctuation and sentence boundaries so that questions and statements are clearly distinguished.
