Student answer (Band 5.5)
Advertisment in this era is the best way to increase sales. A lot of organizations use marketing as a technique to convince the customers in purchasing their product. With continous evolving world sort of advertisement also changes. Firstly, it just came through newspapers or television. Now on every social media advertisements are being done to grab more customers and create the opportunities for sales.
Although some people say that through advertisement, Sellers trick the customer think again and again about purchasing their product which increase their sales. If an Ad is created good then sales goes more than 100% as compared to previous months average, However it depends upon several factors like demographics of any area, season or any event. The main reason why everyone wants to focus on marketing for their business is to get more sales.
On the other hand, those people who say that it is so common that no one pays attention to it. It is because they usually do not get interested easily to purchase anything or they do like to keep money into their pockets. Consequently, they make this view that advertisement does not affects any business.
In my perception, advertisement plays a very important role for any business to increase the sales and that is why they try their best to let the people buy their product. This is why they ask for reviews. Businessmen hires influencers to make ads and pay them to get more sales because accoridng to them people listen to influencers and will be persuaded easily.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You address both views and state your own position: you explain that advertising can increase sales, then present the view that its prevalence makes people ignore it, before concluding that it remains important to businesses. This is relevant to the question, but the discussion is only partial and the ideas are often asserted rather than explained. For example, the claim that a good advertisement can raise sales by “more than 100%” is unsupported, while the explanation of why some people ignore advertising focuses on their spending habits rather than on advertising becoming so familiar that it loses impact. Develop each view with a clear reason and a specific, plausible example, and make your opinion more directly comparative.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a concluding opinion. Sequencing words such as “Firstly,” “Although,” and “On the other hand” help signal the discussion. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes unclear, and some links are mechanical or do not express the relationship accurately. The opening moves from changes in advertising platforms to sales without clearly connecting those points to the two sides of the question. In the second view, “Consequently” introduces a conclusion that does not follow clearly from the preceding explanation. Use topic sentences that state each argument, then connect reasons and examples explicitly; ensure each paragraph develops one main point.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “marketing,” “demographics,” “influencers,” and “persuaded,” and you attempt some less common expressions. However, the range is limited by repeated use of “sales,” “advertisement,” and “product,” and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, such as “keep money into their pockets” and “create the opportunities for sales.” Spelling errors, including “Advertisment,” “continous,” and “accoridng,” also reduce accuracy. Aim for more precise alternatives and natural collocations, such as “boost revenue,” “ignore promotional messages,” and “retain their disposable income.” Proofread carefully, and avoid unsupported numerical claims when a more measured expression would be clearer.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including a conditional structure (“If an Ad is created good…”) and clauses introduced by “Although” and “because.” However, complex sentences are often faulty, and errors occur frequently enough to make some relationships difficult to follow. Examples include “Sellers trick the customer think again,” “sales goes,” “advertisement does not affects,” and “Businessmen hires.” These show problems with verb patterns, subject–verb agreement, and auxiliary use. Sentence boundaries and punctuation also need attention, particularly in the long sentence beginning “If an Ad is created…” Practise building accurate clauses first, then combine them using conjunctions; check each subject against its verb and use the correct verb form after auxiliaries.
