Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0

You identify both views and state a preference for the latter, so the response is relevant to the question. However, the discussion is minimal: the first view is difficult to follow, and the explanation of why people ignore advertising is only briefly suggested through exposure on Facebook, YouTube, TikTok and Instagram. Your opinion is also not developed, and the conclusion ends unfinished (“I”). The response contains 162 words, below the required 250; the 25 words copied from the task prompt are not counted. This leaves too little space to explain and support the ideas. To strengthen the response, explain each view with a clear reason and example, then state and justify your position in a complete conclusion.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5

The response has a basic overall structure: an introduction, two body sections signalled by “On the one hand” and “On the other hand,” and an attempted conclusion. These markers help show that you are addressing both sides. However, progression within the paragraphs is difficult to follow because several ideas are joined without clear relationships, as in “when people says have new things then so they go to shoping mall” and “while online guying other things.” Some transitions, including “thus” and “for instance,” do not clearly connect the examples to the claims. The conclusion is incomplete, which also weakens the overall shape. Use one main point per paragraph, explain it in sequence, and connect examples explicitly to that point.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “advertising,” “branded company,” “online,” and “ignore,” and you attempt to refer to current platforms and shopping habits. However, the range is basic and repetitive, and frequent spelling and word-choice problems make parts of the message hard to understand. Examples include “advertisting,” “jeen,” “lunching branch,” and “att arct inside”; several phrases do not express a clear meaning. Repeating “advertising” and “things” also limits precision. Build a small set of accurate expressions for discussing influence and exposure, and check spelling and collocations. For example, describe how an advert “encourages consumers to purchase” or how repeated exposure can make people “tune out” promotional messages.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

You attempt a few longer sentence forms, such as “because advertising everywhere is many nowadays,” and use basic linking structures to introduce contrasting views. However, sentence patterns are very limited and errors in word order, verb forms, agreement, articles and punctuation frequently obscure meaning. For example, “when people says have new things then so they go” lacks a clear grammatical structure, while “some people see the advertising borad” has problems with article use and sentence completion. Several sentences run together without appropriate punctuation, and the final sentence is unfinished. Practise building accurate simple sentences first, then combine them with clear clauses using “because,” “although” and “as a result.” Proofread each sentence for a subject, a correctly formed verb and a complete ending.
