Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.5
You identify the two visuals and report several destination figures, including 15% for part-time work, 12% unemployed and 5% combining part-time work with postgraduate study. However, the response covers the task only minimally: the salary table is introduced but not described at all, and the overview is vague and partly inaccurate. Full-time work is 52%, not 50%, and “not known” is only 8%, not one of the highest categories. The statement that both postgraduate-study categories are 8% also misreports the 5% figure. The response is 25 words below the required minimum, which further limits the detail provided. To improve, give an accurate overview and compare the salary distributions across the three employment types using key figures from the table.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5
There is a basic attempt to organise the response into an introduction, an overview and a paragraph about the pie chart, with sequencing words such as “Overall” and “Firstly.” This gives the reader some sense of the intended structure. However, progression is incomplete: the final paragraph begins “In the table” but stops before presenting any information, so the second visual is left unaddressed. Some linking is awkward or unclear, as in “And the other hand,” and the overview combines unrelated claims without explaining their relationship. Use separate, complete paragraphs for the overview, destinations and salaries, and connect comparisons explicitly—for example, by contrasting the highest salary bands across employment sectors.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
The response uses some relevant task vocabulary, including “full-time work,” “unemployed,” “postgrad study” and “salaries,” so the topic is generally recognisable. However, the range is limited and several word choices or forms are inaccurate or unnatural, such as “earning” for salary levels, “lesson” for degree course, and “the most less.” There are also spelling errors in “demonestrate” and “antrhopology.” These issues make parts of the description difficult to interpret and reduce precision. Build a reliable set of chart terms—such as “proportion,” “salary band,” “accounted for” and “respectively”—and check spelling and collocations before submitting.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
You attempt both simple statements and a longer comparison, and the reader can identify the general subject of most sentences. However, grammatical control is inconsistent. The opening sentence lacks a clear structure (“graduates on a university did after fulfil…”), while “it can clearly seen” is missing the auxiliary “be.” Other problems include missing articles and prepositions, as well as sentence-boundary errors: “is 50%.part-time worker…” should be separated and punctuated correctly. The final table sentence is incomplete. Practise forming complete clauses with accurate subjects and verbs, and use a small range of controlled comparison structures, such as “The proportion in full-time work was higher than that for part-time work.”
