Student answer (Band 5.0)
The given chart tells us information about Anthropology graduates. What should Anthropology graduates do after completing their undergraduate degree course. Moreover, the table gives us information about the salaries of the anthropologists after doing five years of work.
The chart contains the destination of six different anthropology graduates from the same university. More than half of anthropology graduates do full-time work. Eight percent of them are full-time postgraduate study. Some are unknown and unemployed. However, only five percent of graduates do part-time along with their studies.
Now the students who do jobs has different types of employment such as freelance consultants, government sector and private companies. Freelance consultant earn one lac dollar after five years of work that is 40 percent. However, government sector employe earn 50 percent and private company employe 30 percent.
All the students study from the same university but few of them are successfull in their lives.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
You identify the chart’s subject and report some relevant figures, including 52% in full-time work, 8% in full-time postgraduate study, and 5% combining part-time work with study. However, the response only partially summarises the visuals: it omits the 15% in part-time work and gives no clear overview of the main patterns across the salary table. The salary figures are also misinterpreted: 40%, 50% and 30% refer to the proportions earning $100,000 or more in freelance, government and private-sector roles, not the proportions who “earn one lac dollar” generally. The final claim that only a few graduates are successful is unsupported. Select the key comparisons and report what each percentage represents accurately.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has a basic sequence: it introduces the visuals, discusses graduate destinations, and then turns to employment and salaries. This gives the reader some sense of organisation. However, progression is limited, and the final sentence about graduates’ success does not follow logically from the data. Linking words such as “Moreover” and “However” are used, but they do not always clarify the relationship between ideas. The salary paragraph also lists a few figures without explaining the comparison or connecting them clearly to the income bands. Use separate, purposeful paragraphs for the destination chart and salary table, and organise each around a main comparison rather than isolated details.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use relevant topic vocabulary such as “undergraduate degree course,” “postgraduate study,” “freelance consultants” and “government sector,” so the subject is generally recognisable. However, the range is limited and some choices are imprecise or awkward, including “do full-time work,” “students who do jobs,” and “earn one lac dollar.” “Successfull” is also misspelled, and “employe” is not the correct form. These issues make parts of the salary discussion difficult to interpret precisely. Aim for standard chart-reporting language and accurate terms for income categories, such as “earned at least $100,000” or “fell into the highest salary band.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more extended sentences, and the opening identifies the two visuals. However, the range remains limited, and errors occur frequently enough to affect clarity. For example, “What should Anthropology graduates do…” is a sentence fragment, while “the students who do jobs has” has a subject–verb agreement error. The sentence “Eight percent of them are full-time postgraduate study” also uses an incorrect grammatical structure; the graduates should be described as undertaking or pursuing study. In “government sector employe earn,” the verb does not agree with the subject. Practise complete sentence construction, agreement, and accurate verb patterns, then check punctuation and sentence boundaries.
