Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0
You identify the main destination, full-time work, and include several relevant percentages, such as 52% in full-time work and 5% combining part-time work with postgraduate study. However, the response is incomplete and only minimally reports the table: it mentions the three employment sectors but gives no clear comparison of their salary distributions, and the final sentence cuts off at “private sa”. The claim that graduates in freelance consulting and government “mostly earn around 75,000+ with 80%” is broadly supported by the upper salary bands, but the table’s differences between sectors are not explained. The overview is also vague and contains an unclear claim about earning well in government. The response is 134 words, below the 150-word minimum; this limits the coverage and development of the task.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5
There is a basic attempt to organise the response into an introduction, an overview and detail paragraphs, and linking words such as “Overall”, “Furthermore” and “Moreover” signal movement between points. However, progression is difficult to follow because the overview combines destinations with salary information without a clear relationship, and the later paragraph does not complete its comparison. Some references are unclear, as in “they are involved in three different employment fields” and “they also at that position”; the reader must infer who “they” refers to and what “that position” means. To improve, group the pie-chart information together, then compare salary patterns by sector, using clear topic sentences and complete comparisons.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some task-relevant vocabulary, including “full-time work”, “postgraduate study”, “unemployment” and “Freelance consultants”, so the topic is generally recognisable. However, the range is limited and several word-choice, collocation and spelling problems make parts difficult to understand: “number of salaries graduates genrate” is not a natural way to describe the table, while “mostly earn good” and “at that position” are imprecise. There are also noticeable spelling errors such as “numder”, “thay” and “Futhermore”. Use accurate terms for the data, such as “salary bands”, “earned” and “accounted for”, and check spelling carefully. More precise vocabulary would help distinguish destinations from employment sectors and salary levels.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
The response attempts longer sentences and uses basic clauses to report figures, but the range is limited and errors occur frequently. Subject–verb agreement is a recurring problem: “mostly graduates was doing” and “they was connected” should use plural agreement. The opening also lacks a clear grammatical structure (“illustrates Anthropology graduates … did”), and several clauses are joined without clear sentence boundaries, particularly the sentence beginning “Futhermore, around 52%”. Articles and sentence construction are also inconsistent, as in “with the lowest one was”. These errors sometimes make relationships between ideas hard to interpret. Practise accurate simple reporting sentences first, then combine them with controlled clauses such as “while” or “whereas”; check agreement and punctuation in each sentence.
