Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.5

You identify the two visuals and report two accurate figures: full-time work is 52% and part-time work is 15%. The overview also correctly notes that full-time work is the largest destination and that part-time work combined with postgraduate study is the smallest. However, the response addresses only a small part of the task: it gives no details for the other graduate destinations and does not report any salary figures or meaningful comparisons from the table. The claim that freelance consultants have the highest percentage and private companies the smallest is unclear and does not accurately describe the salary distributions. The response is also 61 words below the required minimum, leaving the summary substantially incomplete. Include key figures from both visuals and compare the salary bands across employment types.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

There is a basic structure: an introduction, an overview, and a detail sentence, and the reader can follow the broad order from the pie chart to the table. The opening phrases “Overall” and “In detail” help signal these stages. However, the response ends abruptly after mentioning only two pie-chart figures, so there is no clear progression through the remaining data or a developed comparison of the table. Some linking is awkward or repetitive, particularly “However” between the chart and table, where a neutral connection would be more suitable. Organise the response into a complete overview and separate detail paragraphs, grouping related figures and using clear comparisons to guide the reader.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant task vocabulary, including “pie chart,” “table,” “full time work,” “part time work,” and “percentage,” so the topic is generally identifiable. However, the range is limited and several spelling and word-choice errors reduce clarity: “thier,” “postgard,” and “incoms” are inaccurate, while “the biggest part of the pie” is imprecise for describing a proportion. “Freelance consultants are the highest percantage” also does not clearly express what is highest. Use accurate terms such as “proportion,” “salary band,” and “employment sector,” and check spelling carefully. More precise vocabulary would help distinguish graduate destinations from the salary distributions shown in the table.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

The response attempts both simple statements and a more complex opening, but sentence structures are often faulty. For example, “illustrates did the Anthropology graduates what did they do” has an incorrect question structure, and “after finished thier bachelor degree course” lacks a correctly formed verb phrase. There are also agreement and article problems in “full time work have the biggest part” and “full time work represent a big part.” Punctuation is inconsistent, with missing spaces after full stops and commas. These errors sometimes make the intended meaning difficult to follow. Practise forming clear declarative sentences, such as “The chart shows what graduates did after completing their degree,” and check subject–verb agreement, articles, and sentence boundaries.
