Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.0

The response covers all parts of the task by summarizing the pie chart and the table. You successfully identified the main features, such as the highest percentage of full-time workers and the salary ranges. However, the analysis of the table is slightly underdeveloped. For instance, when discussing the table, you list percentages without clearly comparing the sectors or highlighting the most significant trends, such as the high proportion of government sector employees earning the top salary bracket. To reach a higher band, ensure that comparisons are more explicit and that the data is synthesized rather than just listed.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.0

The essay is logically organized into an introduction, an overview, and two body paragraphs. You use some cohesive devices, such as 'Overall', 'In terms of', and 'whereas', which help the flow of information. However, some transitions are a bit mechanical, and the connection between sentences could be smoother. For example, the transition between the pie chart data and the table data could be more sophisticated. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the two distinct data sets, which aids readability.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.5

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'freelance consultants', 'private companies', and 'government sectors'. There are some minor inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'less numbers of them' (should be 'a smaller number') and 'slightly follow by' (should be 'followed slightly by'). While the vocabulary is sufficient to convey the meaning clearly, it lacks the precision and variety required for a higher band score. Expanding your range of reporting verbs and comparative phrases would be beneficial.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.5

You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are several grammatical errors, such as 'destination of anthropology graduates' (missing article 'the'), 'full-time worker made up' (should be 'workers'), and 'Graduates prefer to work as part-time' (should be 'part-time work'). These errors do not impede communication, but they occur frequently enough to prevent a higher score. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and the correct use of articles will help improve your accuracy.
