Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response covers the main features of the data, but the analysis is somewhat superficial. While you identified the key categories in the pie chart, the description of the salary table is inaccurate and confusing. For instance, you mention 'exactly 50% of $100,000+ students are earning in Government sector,' which is a misinterpretation of the data provided. The task requires a clear summary and comparison, but your interpretation of the salary figures lacks precision and clarity. To improve, focus on accurately reporting the data points and ensuring that comparisons are logically supported by the provided information rather than making generalisations that do not align with the visual evidence.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organised into paragraphs, but the logical flow is hindered by awkward phrasing and a lack of cohesive devices. Transitions between the pie chart and the table are abrupt, and the connection between sentences is often weak. For example, the phrase 'after that stats are shown' is informal and does not effectively guide the reader. While you use some basic sequencing, the overall structure lacks the sophisticated linking required for higher bands. Improving the use of cohesive devices such as 'furthermore,' 'in contrast,' or 'consequently' would help create a more professional and readable flow.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but there are several instances of imprecise word choice and spelling errors, such as 'Antrhropology' and 'earing'. You rely on basic descriptors like 'least number' and 'most graduates'. To reach a higher band, you should aim for more precise academic vocabulary, such as 'the majority of,' 'a significant proportion,' or 'the smallest segment.' Additionally, ensure that you use terminology correctly; for example, 'full time works' should be 'full-time employees.' Expanding your range of synonyms and focusing on accurate collocations will significantly enhance your lexical score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The response contains a mix of simple and complex structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'most graduates earns'), incorrect preposition usage, and awkward sentence construction (e.g., 'the once who work in private sector'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with the use of commas and spacing around percentages. While the meaning is generally understandable, the frequency of these errors prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. Focusing on proofreading for basic grammatical accuracy and sentence structure will be beneficial.
