IELTS Writing Task 1 question
The chart below shows what Anthropology graduates from one university did after finishing their undergraduate degree course. The table shows the salaries of the anthropologists in work after five years.
Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features and make comparison where relevant.
Student answer (Band 6.0)
The charts illustrates the future of students that graduated from the similar institute and their salaries after continous working for the half decade.
Overall, full time works accounted for highest proportion while part time job showed the least percentage from all the categories.
The pie chart is divided into five different sections. The graduates after completed studies worked for the full-time which stood at 52% and comprised as highest proportion. The second category was part-time job with 15%, significantly. Moreover, third section highlighted jobless individuals with a proportion of 12%. The last two parts comprised of scholars with persuing post graduation with a figure of 8% and few resume with job as well as higher studies which to contributed 5%, approximately.
The tables depicts the average salaries after five year job period. There are three departments namely, Freelance, public jobs and corporate companies. In freelance sector, wages peaked dramatically from 25000 -49999 of 5% to 40% with [redacted phone] dollars. At civil sector, it increased 10% more in half decade. In addition, local firms they started from 10% further showed upward trend to 35% however plummeted to 30%.

The response covers all parts of the task by summarizing the pie chart and the table. However, the analysis of the table is problematic. The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, with an introduction, a body paragraph for the pie chart, and a body paragraph for the table. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'Moreover', 'In addition', and 'However', though some are used mechanically or inappropriately given the context of the data. The progression of ideas is generally clear, but the internal logic within the second paragraph is weakened by the inaccurate interpretation of the table data, which makes the comparison difficult to follow.

The range of vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks precision.
