Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

The response covers all parts of the task by summarizing both the pie chart and the table. You successfully identified the main features, such as the high proportion of full-time workers and the salary differences between sectors. However, the analysis is slightly hampered by some inaccurate reporting of the data. For instance, you mention 'one in a seven' for part-time work, which is not clearly supported by the chart, and the description of the salary data is somewhat confusing. To reach a higher band, ensure that all figures are accurately transcribed and that comparisons are made more precisely between the categories provided.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the information. You use some cohesive devices like 'In addition', 'Furthermore', and 'In the other hand' (which should be 'On the other hand'). However, the flow between sentences is occasionally mechanical, and some transitions are slightly awkward. The referencing is generally clear, but the progression of ideas could be smoother. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring they are used in the correct context would enhance the overall coherence of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.5

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'proportion', 'employment', and 'freelancers'. However, there are several instances of imprecise word choice or awkward phrasing, such as 'higher study scholars' and 'entire elevated schooling'. Additionally, there are minor errors in collocation, such as 'graduated from an university' (should be 'a university') and 'serving in government section' (should be 'government sector'). To improve, focus on using more precise terminology for academic and professional contexts and pay closer attention to common collocations.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The response contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with articles ('an university'), prepositions ('following with'), and subject-verb agreement. Some sentences are slightly disjointed, such as 'roughly one in a seven got half time employment'. While these errors do not significantly impede communication, they occur frequently enough to prevent a higher score. Focusing on proofreading for basic grammatical accuracy and refining your use of complex sentence structures will help improve your score in this area.
