Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.0

The response covers all parts of the task, including both the pie chart and the table. You have successfully identified the main features, such as the dominance of full-time work and the salary distributions across sectors. However, the overview is slightly weak; it focuses on listing data rather than highlighting significant trends or comparisons. For example, noting that the government sector has the highest proportion of top earners compared to freelance consultants would have strengthened the analysis. The data is generally accurate, but ensure that comparisons are more explicit to move into higher bands.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.0

The response is logically organized into clear paragraphs, with an introduction, an overview, and two body paragraphs. You use some cohesive devices like 'Moreover', 'Firstly', and 'Apart from this' to link ideas. However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical or repetitive. The flow between sentences could be improved by using more varied referencing and avoiding the repetitive structure of starting every sentence with a data point. Paragraphing is appropriate, but the transition between the pie chart data and the table data could be smoother to create a more cohesive narrative.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.5

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'illustrates', 'depicts', 'freelance consultants', and 'unemployed'. However, the range is somewhat limited, and there are instances of awkward phrasing, such as 'very lowest graduates' and 'salary between 25000$- 49999$ earned by less graduates'. To achieve a higher score, try to use more precise collocations and avoid repeating the same sentence structures. The vocabulary is sufficient to convey the meaning, but it lacks the flexibility and sophistication required for a higher band.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.5

You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent errors in grammar and punctuation. For instance, there are issues with article usage ('the highest Anthropology graduates'), missing prepositions, and inconsistent currency formatting. Some sentences are slightly clunky, such as 'full time postgrad study done by 8% graduates', which lacks a verb. While these errors do not impede communication, they are frequent enough to prevent a higher score. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and consistent sentence construction will help improve your accuracy.
