The chart below shows what Anthropology graduates from one university did after finishing their undergraduate degree course. The table shows the salaries of the anthropologists in work after five years.

Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features and make comparison where relevant.

Student answer (Band 6.0)

The pie chart given below illustrates the destination of Anthropology graduates from one university after completing their undergraduate degrees, while table compares the salaries of Anthropology working in three sectors after five years.

Overall, most graduates entered full-time work, while only a small percentage combined part- time work with postgraduate study. In terms of salaries, the government sector had the highest proportion of employees earning over $100,000.

According to the pie chart, 52% of graduates found full-time jobs, making it the largest group. 15% worked part-time, while 12% were unemployed. Both full-time postgraduate study and not known accounted 8% each. The smallest figure, 5% was for those doing part-time work with postgraduate study.

After five years, 50% of government sector employees earned $100,000 or more, compared with 40% of freelance consultants and 30% of private company workers. Private company had the largest share 35% in the $50,000-74,999 salary range, whereas only 5% of government workers earned the lowest salary.
