Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response covers the main features of both the pie chart and the table. However, the analysis is somewhat mechanical and lacks a clear, logical flow. While you identified the highest and lowest categories, some data points are presented in a confusing manner, such as the description of the salary groups. The summary of the table is particularly difficult to follow because the relationship between the employment types and the salary brackets is not clearly articulated. To improve, ensure that you group data logically rather than listing figures sequentially, and provide a more cohesive overview of the trends rather than just stating individual percentages.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is divided into paragraphs, but the internal structure is weak. The use of cohesive devices is often awkward or incorrect, such as 'Turning ,to the details' and 'Probing further'. These transitions feel forced rather than natural. Additionally, the referencing is sometimes unclear, making it difficult for the reader to follow the comparison between the different employment sectors and their respective salary distributions. Improving the use of linking words and ensuring that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence would significantly enhance the logical progression of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is somewhat limited and repetitive. You rely heavily on basic terms like 'got', 'recorded', and 'figure'. There are also issues with word choice and collocation, such as 'full time working job' instead of 'full-time employment' and 'unknown students' which is not a clear description of the data. To reach a higher band, you should aim to use more precise academic vocabulary to describe trends, such as 'accounted for', 'constituted', 'the majority of', or 'a significant proportion'. Spelling and punctuation errors, such as missing spaces after commas, also detract from the overall quality.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The response contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. There are issues with article usage ('the highest proportion', 'the lowest salary'), subject-verb agreement, and sentence structure. Many sentences are fragmented or run-on, such as 'Overall,it is evident that the full time work had accounted for highest proportion ,meanwhile private companies employee account for the lowest salary'. The punctuation is inconsistent, with many missing or misplaced commas and periods. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction and ensuring that your subjects and verbs agree before attempting more complex structures.
