Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response covers the main features of the graph and table, but the analysis is superficial and lacks clear comparisons. While you identified the percentages for employment status, the description of the salary table is confusing and inaccurate. For instance, you describe salary ranges as percentages (e.g., 'Freelance consultants salary in stating is 5 percent'), which misinterprets the data provided in the table. To improve, ensure you clearly distinguish between categories and accurately report the numerical data provided. The overview is missing; a summary should highlight the most significant trends rather than just listing individual data points.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The response is organised into paragraphs, which is a positive step. However, the progression of ideas is mechanical and lacks logical flow. Cohesive devices are largely absent, making the sentences feel like a list of isolated facts rather than a cohesive report. The referencing is also unclear at times, such as the repetitive use of 'The graph shows' and 'The table clarifies'. To improve, use a wider range of linking words (e.g., 'furthermore', 'in contrast', 'consequently') to connect your ideas and ensure that each paragraph has a clear thematic focus.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is quite limited and repetitive. You rely heavily on basic terms like 'shows', 'do', and 'student'. There are also significant issues with word choice and collocation, such as 'after learned the Anthropology' (should be 'after studying anthropology') and 'salary in stating' (should be 'starting salary'). The misuse of 'percent' when referring to salary figures indicates a misunderstanding of the data labels. To reach a higher band, you need to use more precise vocabulary related to data reporting, such as 'proportion', 'fluctuate', 'commence', and 'remuneration'.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text that occasionally impede clarity. Examples include 'the people what he did' (incorrect relative pronoun and tense), '52 percent student do' (subject-verb agreement), and 'Government sector employs salary' (incorrect word form). The sentence structures are predominantly simple, and there is a lack of complex sentence forms. To improve, focus on basic subject-verb agreement, correct tense usage, and attempt to combine simple sentences using relative clauses or subordinating conjunctions to demonstrate a wider grammatical range.
