The pie chart depicts the destination of anthropology graduates from a university, while the table illustrates the types of employment and associated salaries after 5 years' work.

Overall, the destination anthropology graduates in full time work has accounted for high just above the half of the whole. Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0

The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 150 words, which significantly impacts the task achievement. Furthermore, the response is incomplete, ending abruptly in the middle of a sentence ('destination of same proport'). While you have identified some main features, such as the highest and lowest categories, the analysis is underdeveloped and lacks a comprehensive overview of the data provided in the table regarding salaries. To improve, ensure you complete the task by covering all data points and providing a clear, logical summary that meets the length requirement.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The response is organized into paragraphs, but the abrupt ending makes it difficult to assess the overall coherence. The use of cohesive devices like 'while', 'however', and 'whilst' is present, but the flow is interrupted by the incomplete nature of the text. The logical progression is hindered because the final paragraph is cut off, preventing a full development of the comparison between the chart and the table. To improve, focus on completing your sentences and ensuring that each paragraph flows logically into the next with clear transitions.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is generally adequate for the task, with terms like 'depicts', 'illustrates', and 'associated with'. However, there are some awkward phrasings, such as 'destination anthropology graduates' and 'time work plus postgrad study'. The range is somewhat limited, and the incomplete sentence prevents the use of more sophisticated vocabulary that might have been included in a full response. To improve, work on using more precise collocations and ensure your vocabulary is varied enough to describe trends and comparisons accurately.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The response contains several grammatical errors, such as 'destination anthropology graduates in full time work has accounted for high just above the half' and 'the least is associated with private companies'. There is a mix of simple and some attempted complex structures, but the accuracy is inconsistent. The abrupt ending also leaves the final sentence grammatically incomplete. To improve, focus on subject-verb agreement and the correct use of articles and prepositions. Proofreading for basic sentence structure will help you achieve a higher band score.
