Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0

The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 150 words, which significantly impacts the ability to fully develop the response. While the main features of the chart are identified, the analysis is incomplete. The summary of the table data is particularly thin, lacking specific data points or meaningful comparisons between the salary categories. Furthermore, the response is unfinished, ending abruptly with an incomplete sentence. To improve, you must ensure all parts of the prompt are addressed with sufficient detail and data, and you must complete your summary to provide a cohesive conclusion.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The response is organized into short paragraphs, which is a positive start. However, the progression of ideas is hindered by the incomplete nature of the text. Cohesive devices are used in a very basic manner, such as 'Most of the', 'After that', and 'On the other hand'. Because the final paragraph is cut off, there is no logical conclusion or final synthesis of the information. To improve, focus on using a wider variety of linking words to connect your ideas more fluidly and ensure that every paragraph has a clear, completed structure.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is generally adequate for basic communication but lacks the precision and range required for higher bands. There are several spelling errors, such as 'proffesions', 'antrhropologist', 'counsultants', and 'vecancy'. These errors are noticeable and detract from the professional tone required for an Academic Task 1 report. To improve, focus on accurate spelling and attempt to use more precise terminology related to data description, such as 'proportion', 'fluctuated', or 'remuneration', rather than relying on simple phrases like 'decent amount'.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The response contains a mix of simple and some attempted complex structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors. Examples include 'depicts the proffesions of anthropologist after complete their graduation' (should be 'anthropologists after completing'), and 'second most doing job is' (should be 'the second most common job'). Subject-verb agreement and preposition usage are inconsistent. While the meaning is generally clear, the frequency of errors is high enough to impede the flow of the text. Increasing your control over basic sentence construction and proofreading for grammatical accuracy is essential.
