Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response covers all parts of the task, providing a clear overview and selecting key features from both the pie chart and the table. You successfully identified the main trends, such as the dominance of full-time work and the salary distribution across sectors. However, the analysis could be improved by making more direct comparisons between the categories. For instance, noting that the majority of graduates in freelance and government roles earn high salaries compared to those in private companies would strengthen the report. The data is generally accurate, though the phrasing 'double percentage of students which is 10%' is slightly clunky. Overall, the response is well-focused and meets the requirements for a clear, analytical summary.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The response is logically organized, with a clear introduction, an overview, and body paragraphs that group information by chart type. You use cohesive devices such as 'Overall', 'However', and 'Moreover' to guide the reader through the data. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the career destinations from the salary information. To reach a higher band, ensure that referencing is always precise; for example, in the final sentence, the connection between the salary brackets and the sectors could be smoother. The progression of ideas is clear, and the information flows well from one point to the next.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'remuneration', 'undergraduate', and 'freelance consultants' effectively. There are some minor inaccuracies in word choice, such as 'remuneration received by them' (which is slightly wordy) and 'whom no data is available' (which is grammatically awkward). While you attempt to use more sophisticated vocabulary, some phrasing remains a bit mechanical. To improve, focus on using more precise collocations when describing data trends, such as 'a significant proportion' or 'a notable disparity', rather than relying on simpler structures. The vocabulary is sufficient to convey the meaning clearly throughout the report.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The response uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While most sentences are clear, there are occasional grammatical slips. For example, 'The pie chart and table shows' should be 'show' (subject-verb agreement), and 'only 5% students' should be 'only 5% of students'. Additionally, the phrase 'The percentage for students... is same as 8%' is missing an article ('the same'). Despite these errors, the meaning is never obscured, and the punctuation is generally correct. To achieve a higher score, aim for greater control over complex structures and ensure consistent subject-verb agreement throughout the text.
