Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response covers all parts of the task, providing a clear overview and selecting key features from both the chart and the table. You successfully identified the most common destination for graduates and highlighted the salary trends. However, there is a minor inaccuracy in the overview: you stated that part-time work and post-grad study were the least common destinations, but the data shows part-time work at 15% and post-grad study at 8%, while 'unknown' and 'unemployed' are also present. Additionally, the comparison of salary data could be more analytical rather than just listing figures. Overall, the response is well-structured and addresses the prompt effectively.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The response is logically organized into distinct paragraphs for the chart and the table. There is a clear progression of ideas, and the use of cohesive devices such as 'In contrast', 'On the other hand', and 'However' helps to guide the reader. While the paragraphing is appropriate, some transitions between sentences feel slightly mechanical. The referencing is generally clear, though the flow could be improved by varying the sentence structure more effectively to connect the data points rather than listing them sequentially.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'proportions', 'destination', and 'sectors' correctly. There are some minor errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'choosed' (should be 'chose') and 'most paid sectors' (should be 'highest-paying sectors'). While you attempt to use some less common vocabulary, the range is somewhat limited, and there is occasional repetition of basic structures. To reach a higher band, focus on using more precise academic collocations and ensuring accurate word forms.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The response uses a mix of simple and complex sentence forms. While the meaning is always clear, there are several grammatical errors, such as 'the lest was' (should be 'the least was'), 'graduates who got salaries range from' (should be 'graduates whose salaries ranged from'), and 'unknown about their destination' (should be 'the destination of 8% was unknown'). These errors do not impede communication, but they occur frequently enough to prevent a higher score. Increasing the variety of complex structures and proofreading for subject-verb agreement would improve your accuracy.
