Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses the task by summarizing the chart and table. However, the analysis is superficial and lacks precision. For example, the description of the table is inaccurate; you describe salary trends as 'increasing gradually' or 'freeze', but the table provided actually shows salary figures (e.g., 85k, 75k), not percentages or trends over time. You have misinterpreted the data labels. Furthermore, while you identify the main categories, the comparison between the categories is weak. To improve, ensure you accurately interpret the data labels and provide specific comparative data points rather than vague descriptions like 'ups and downs'.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The response is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate. Phrases like 'on the other hand' are used to transition between the chart and the table, which is not a logical contrast. Additionally, some sentences are poorly connected, such as 'besides that, some postgraduation workers are also serving their skills in full time job constituted for 8%'. The flow of ideas is somewhat disjointed, and the referencing is occasionally unclear, which hinders the overall progression of the report.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision required for a higher band. You rely on repetitive phrasing such as 'displays', 'shows', and 'constituted for'. There are also some awkward collocations and word choices, such as 'serving their skills' and 'little ratio'. The misuse of terms like 'freeze' to describe salary figures indicates a lack of control over academic vocabulary. To improve, focus on using more precise verbs and nouns related to data reporting, such as 'accounted for', 'represented', or 'fluctuated'.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The response contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors. Issues include incorrect article usage ('the last year', 'the salary of graduate'), subject-verb agreement errors ('The destinations... shows'), and awkward phrasing ('made up for 30% at the end'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with unnecessary spaces before periods. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to lower the score. Focusing on basic sentence construction and proofreading for subject-verb agreement would significantly improve the clarity of your writing.
